I have had my NC for about a year and I bought the CM7 on a SD card shortly after I got the NC. It has worked great with the card in using CM7 or as a NC reader with the card out. Here's my problem. When I am using it as a Nook Color, I have full access to the internet but when I put the SD card and reboot in CM7 mode, the tablet no longer see the internet. I have done the periodic upgrades for the NC that Barnes and Noble puts out. Could one of these updates have caused this problem? Thanks for...

Barnes & Nobles Nook Color vs. Nook Tablet
Just got the Nook Color. It was a Christmas present. It has a lot of nice features, but I was hoping for some things that are missing. My biggest misunderstanding before using it was that is was more of a tablet than a reader. My inclination after reading some other member's posts was that I would like it better if I rooted it and installed cyanogenmod, but I have some concerns about that. What I want is a more responsive interface and browsing experience, access to Android Market, but to keep...

I've decided on a 7" tablet. Dedicated tablet over rooted and ROM'd such as Nook Color or Kindle Fire?
I like the 7" form factor and there seem to be a lot of nice choices as far as manufacturer and style are concerned. I really like Samsung but was leaning towards an Iconia. Now there is a 7" Thrive. Should I pick a dedicated Tablet or should I save some money and pick up a Kindle Fire or Nook Color and ROM it.

How will the Kindle Fire change the way we look at tablet pricing?
So far I love my Kindle Fire beyond belief. In addition everyone I show loves it too and they go wild once they find out the $199 price tag on the unit. Many people who otherwise would have ignored tablets are running out to get one of these little multimedia bad boys. Amazon brought a well built and beautiful UI version of Android to the market. How do you think this will change the way people look at other tablets? Already when I look at similar sized tablets (Lenovo $250, B&N $250, etc..)...

Is it worth getting this just to put CyanogenMod 7 on it and use it as a mini-tablet?
I already have an iPad and IPhone after switching from a Droid 1, so I'm familiar with the Android environment. Can anyone say if this is worth it if you buy it just for it to be a more portable tablet, and something to play around with android on?

Where can I get an LCD display replacement for my Nook Color?
First off, I live in mexico city. There is no Barnes & Noble stores here. My beloved Nook fell today from a chair (maybe 50cms tall)... bad luck I suppose; the screen cracked. I have the part number, its an LG manufactured display; (the part number is LD070WS1)... I looked in eBay, there's ONE seller from Hong Kong, asking for $100 USDs for the screen. I've had horrible experiences with Hong Kong-based sellers. I also e-mailed B&N support. I have a few relatives that live in Miami, so, they...

How can I use Adobe Digital Editions with my nook simple touch?
To make a long story short, just bought my first dedicated eReading device: the second generation nook. I had a Borders gift card that I needed to use ASAP (they're going out of business in case you hadn't heard) so I bought a pair of novels in the Kobo store. As it so happens, Kobo's pretty cool about loading these books on other devices: the company basically gives you the ability to download them as protected ePubs and then load them on through Adobe DRM and Digital Edition software. I've...

This (Samsung Galaxy Tab 7" WiFi only) vs the Nook Color.
Consider that I have rooted the NookColor. So, I've got CyanogenMod7 with Google Addons (Market, Maps, Gmail, Mail, etc).

Does the Nook Color Work with different chargers and cables?
Does anybody have firsthand experience using the Nook Color with a different charger and or cable than it came with? I generally use whatever charger and or cable I please, but the manual is vehement that I use only the one that it came with. Any insight would be great.

What is the best e-reader for reading Google Reader or other web content?
I want to read Google Reader, preferably in a visual layout like Pulse or Feedly present your syndicated items. Is this even possible or done in a natural way on any platform? I've read about the Kindle's beta web browser, and I know that the Nook can be rooted to run Honeycomb. Anybody care to share their experiences with RSS readers on an e-reader?

Does your CM7-homescreen rebuild all widgets very slowly after rotating? How to counter that?
Using Phiremod's CM7-Gingerbread, the homescreen rebuilds very slowly when rotation occurs. Takes ~1/4 s for each widget..!

Any tips on Honeycomb? How to speed up?
Used Honeycomb for demo only, and from uSD. It was just too slow, but I figure there are ways?
