Though the Audyssey Audio Dock is on the expensive side, it's one of the better-sounding--and versatile--iPod/iPhone audio systems with built-in Bluetooth and speakerphone capabilities we've tested.

The Audyssey Audio Dock is a Bluetooth speaker system with solid overall audio performance, but the digital signal processing in play here to prevent distortion means audiophiles and purists should look elsewhere.

It may have a crazy name, but the Audyssey South of Market iPhone and iPad dock is a wonderful combination of innovative design, practical flexibility and sonic prowess. It is one of the few docks to offer a genuine sense of stereo separation.

The result is one of the best audio performances we've heard outside of the much pricier B&W Zeppelin Air. The only slight catch, as with other monolithic speaker docks we've heard, is that you won't get much in the way of true stereo separation.

A worthy addition to the dock world, not least for its versatility and wireless Bluetooth connectivity.

As it is, the sound quality is high enough that we can still recommend it for audiophiles and/or iPhone owners who don’t want or need a Bluetooth connection to listen to their music. The USB syncing and speakerphone mode make it perfect for iPhone users looking for new desktop speakers.

Many times I have really liked a new audio product at first, but as time passed, I would begin to notice little quirks or annoyances. That’s not happening with the Audyssey dock. I have listened to it for well over a month now and it just seems to get better and better each day.
