In both features and performance they compare very favorably indeed.

These small, powerful desktop speakers can fill a room with crisp sound, strong bass, and very little distortion, even at high volumes. Whether you're using your computer for music, videos, or gaming, the Audyssey Media Speakers are a good choice if you're short on space but still want solid sound from your PC. While their list price of $249 is a bit steep, they're available for as little as $169, so be sure to shop around.

A solid pair of laptop or desk speakers, unremarkable but warm and powerful, with an understated and attractive design. More attention to detail would help justify their price, though.
Read the full review →For $200, these are probably the most righteous setup for a dorm, bedroom, or other such small, budgety arrangement.
Read the full review →Little speakers' bass limitations are a fact of life, but Audyssey's Lower East Side Media Speakers can generate considerably more bass punch than I've heard from any speaker of this size and price. Beyond the bass, the sound was lively and fun; I really enjoyed spending time with these speakers.
Read the full review →While we didn't like their sound as much as the Audioengine 2's, the Audyssey Lower East Side Media Speakers are an attractively designed set of powered multimedia speakers that offer good sound and the added bonus of a digital optical input.
Read the full review →The Audyssey Lower East Side Media Speakers offer a rewarding two-channel sonic experience for your computer, iPod, or home theater, but the system isn't without flaws.

Read the full review →Overall, a very highly recommended 2.0 set of speakers. You can hook them up to your TV using the optical input or to your computer through a standard 3.5mm jack. The design is quite nice and sound is very clear. I don't have many negative things to say about these speakers although they will...
Read the full review →Compared to my old, cheap Dell speaker setup (two tweeters and a separate sub), these Audyssey's are fantastic. The sound is much clearer, and completely devoid of static (unlike my Dell system). The only thing I don't love is that because the woofers are inside the speakers (which are up on my...
Read the full review →I bought these when I saw a smoking deal on Woot for way under the normal price. I'm quite happy with them, although at the normal street price of around $175 I might be a little disappointed I didn't go with the Audioengine A2's instead (which I may upgrade to in the future). I have an old pair...
Read the full review →Just picked these up on the recommendation of The Wirecutter. Loving the sound so far. Very precise with just the right amount of low end. It's remarkable, coming from bookshelf speakers connected to an amp. That combo was a little much for the desktop, but the presence of these speakers is...
