I've been looking for a capable ultraportable laptop for a very long time now.
My previous laptop was an HP dv7. Which was good for its time. But after almost 5 years, the graphics card finally shorted out in it. The HP dv2-1030us had been my backup/portable option, but now its been my only option for about 6 months now. I've read that the HDD and RAM can be replaced/upgraded. Is this true, and what other parts might be serviceable? What about the battery?

Does the lid close with magnetic latches, like modern MacBooks?

This version of the refreshed Zenbooks appears to be the brawniest, what with the dedicated graphics.
Unlike the others it also doesn't have a SSD but rather a hybrid 500GB HDD + 26GB SSD cache.
I was disappointed to read this, as I expect performance to be worse due to this.
Are my worries justified?
Has any one had experience with hybrid drives? Are read/write speeds comparable?
Is ist possible to make sure that certain parts, i.e. the OS is installed on the SSD part, to ensure fast boot times?...
