Conclusion: We like it

With the earlier models in its Transformer series, Asus managed to redefine the Android tablet, by adding an optional keyboard dock that turned the tablets into pseudo-laptops. The dock is back with the Transformer Pad 300, along with a lower price. At $379, it undercuts the iPad 2 by $20, and the $399 version has double the storage capacity of the iPad 2 at a comparable price. With a great display, good performance, the availability of the keyboard dock, and its competitive price, the Transformer Pad 300 is the best option right now for anyone who wants a 10-inch Android tablet. But unless you really prefer Android over iOS, or must have that keyboard, you're probably still better off spending your $399 on an iPad 2.

A mild refresh of its predecessor, but at a lower price, the Asus Transformer Pad TF300 remains a top 10-inch Android tablet that packs a fast CPU, Ice Cream Sandwich, and an optional keyboard dock that turns it into a true productivity machine.

The new Transformer tablet from Asus costs less—and yet it still manages to impress us. A follow-up to the acclaimed Transformer Prime, the Tegra 3-powered Transformer Pad TF300T is perhaps the best bargain we've ever seen from an Android-based tablet.

Overall, the reasons for buying a TF300 are many and varied but we struggled to come up with many reasons you shouldn't buy one. So that's a glowing recommendation from us then.

The Asus Transformer Pad TF300 is a good tablet with a large screen and is sensibly priced. The bundled-in dock that offers extra battery life and a keyboard is a nice feature too.

We are left with positive impressions of the Asus Transformer Pad TF300T. It’s quite clear to us that Asus are setting themselves up to be one of the key players in the tablet market, especially since the announcement of the Google Nexus 7 tablet which is manufactured by Asus.

Is the Transformer Pad 300 a laptop replacement tablet? No, but it’s darn close. There are still some limitations to content creation, ... but if you’re happy with the kind of productivity that apps offer, this is actually a good laptop alternative.

Synopsis: There are two kinds of tablets. Toys and legitimate desktop replacements. This is a mid-level latter, with high end appeal. I got to play with one of these over a few days. Asus is offering this as a mid-level tablet, but honestly they could market it as a durable alternative to a high...

I like this tablet. It's not perfect. However, sometimes it is really laggy just even navigating through the app drawer. Hopefully, future updates will change that. I wish that it felt a little more durable. There is some flex when you push on the back.
