An attractive little laptop that could easily pass for something several times its $500 price. It's only when you open it up and find a more-or-less standard netbook that it becomes clear it's not a new rival for the MacBook Air or Vaio TT.

Netbooks are the new big rage in the gadget world. They’re cheap, portable, and people are realizing that they don’t need a custom-built gaming machine to look at facebook and their email. Asus started this netbook invasion with their EEE PC 700 with its 7 inch screen and cheap price tag. The...

Screen is matte, which is optimal. it is bright, and the speakers are loud (with Windows 7 RC1, XP seems to lower the maximum volume automatically). Function hotkeys are very nice, such as wifi toggle and performance level. I have the older keyboard on mine, but I have used and felt the...

I got the 1000h with the intent of turning it into a Macbook Mini and it hasn't disappointed me at all. Everything works excepts the microphone which is no big deal. I have not found an application that will not run. Since Apple won't make a netbook, I made a netbook an Apple. There...

Yeah, this little netbook does everything I want it to. Well, except it doesn't handle Hulu that well... but I'm in Canada, so that doesn't really matter much anyways. It does a fantastic job of playing Divx movies so I like to take it with me for air travel to watch what I want....

The Eee PC 1000h from Asus has the long battery life and portability expected of any machine in the netbook genre. Where this little guy really shines though is in the 80% sized keyboard that I have no problem cranking out emails, notes, etc. on at my normal typing speed. With updated drivers the...

I use my Eee PC 1000H for everything, from things I do at work and school to surfing the net on my couch at home. Despite the meager Atom processor, I've found not a single program that I need to run on it that won't work. It's faster than I expected, and so perfect for web...

Well, until the Apple tablet comes... Only a few design errors. 1. The photos on the retail sites hide the big battery bump on the bottom (not sure if it's related to solid state vs 160GB HD). 2. Nice little neoprene bag it comes with. 3. The right shift key needs to be moved (some...

Overall, the EEE PC 1000 is an excellent netbook. It is just large enough to offer a usable keyboard (after remapping the position of the right shift key), yet small enough to carry with you. The integrated webcam is a nice feature, though the image quality leaves a bit to be desired as there is...

I've had this netbook for over a year now. I was excited when it first came out. So much so I ended up getting the 80gb version, not knowing that a few weeks later the 160gb version will be arriving. Despite this, it did not derail from the fun I've been having this with this little...
