After examining an actual unit, I went for a Mac Mini 2010 instead and am very pleased. Sure it cost more and it's worth more. If you're on a budget, however, the Asus may be for you, and I prefer its build quality to the Acer near-twin.

Regarding the RAM: I haven't opened mine up, but given the platform, the maximum it will support is 4GB technically, because it's a 32-bit CPU.
Practically, there may be only one RAM slot, I'm not sure, which would limit you to single channel. Mine has 1GB, which is plenty for what I do. To the guy who asked how we use ours: I immediately installed vista business 32-bit on mine, say what you will about vista, it's a very stable OS with SP2, and it's better than XP by any measure of means. I use mine as a headless home server, mainly for file sharing. It is connected to my drobo 2nd gen, which has 2x1TB drives and 2x1.5TB...

How do you guys use this thing?
Hey guys, I've had my EEEBOX for about 10 months now, and love it. I agree a tad underpowered, but enough to do what I need. I use mine for the following Web on TV - I have my EEEBOX plugged into my TV, so I can surf the net, go on MSN, watch TWIT live, etc File Server - Nothing huge, just files that I want available on my network without having to dish out a couple of hundred bucks for a NAS. Also with the low power consumption, I don't even think twice about leaving it on all the time....
