Conclusion: We're mixed

The Asus Eee PC 101CH is a throwback to the early days of netbooks: it's cheap, underpowered, and has a low-end display. While it has a few features that early netbooks lacked — including the ability to display full HD videos and HDMI output — it's still a sluggish performer, with a small keyboard, short battery life, and no way to upgrade its 1GB of RAM. If your goal is to spend under $300 and still be able to watch HD videos on the go, the X101CH is worth considering. Otherwise, there are much better options available, including some older netbooks that are easier to upgrade, and have better keyboards and displays.

The Asus Eee PC X101CH may be slim and light, but it fails to impress in nearly every other respect. Its relatively cheap price tag doesn't justify poor processor performance and an unimpressive screen.

If you simply want a portable computer for light-weight computing tasks and don’t care much about long battery life, the $270 Eee PC X101CH is one of the best options available today.

Throw in the X101CH’s sleek good looks, quick wake from resume, decent connectivity and virtually silent running, and we can just about forgive its average battery life and low-resolution screen.
