I've been looking around for a headset and I've liked most of what I've heard about the Astro A40 but I have some concerns. They are as follows... Number 1) I'm looking for a wireless system that at the bare least is Wireless for my 360 and PS3, and is also PC compatible. The PC doesn't have to be Wireless but Wireless to the Consoles is preferred. Number 2) Ease of use. The consoles are connected via HDMI directly to my HDTV with no Sound System between them. Okay, so I was about to buy the Astro Gaming A40 Wireless System (a.k.a.
2011 Edition), but after reading some reviews (I liked the CNET one) and lots of different opinions, I just got so confused. A lot of people says the Astro A40 are the best gaming headset ever created, and that they so superior than the Turtle Beach X41. Anyone have these hooked up to both an Xbox 360 and a PS3? If so, what solution did you use?
I've got an HDMI-equipped Onkyo receiver that I run both consoles into now – trying to determine an elegant way to add wireless headphones to that mix.
$83.97 shipping to Canada? Is Astro Boy flying them to my house in a solid gold private jet?
Saw these from Ryan's top 10 list, but no freaking way with that added cost.
These have been above and beyond my expectations for a headset. It integrates amazingly with my Xbox LIVE chat feature, as well as having great audio quality.
Much cheaper and more practical than a surround speaker set. Pros: +Very high sound quality and the simulated surround sound is surprisingly accurate +Easy to connect to XBox LIVE for in-game and party chat features +Adjustable input/voice volume balance +Detachable microphone boom Cons: -The mass of wires with the MixAmp is a little unwieldy, but with the newly released wireless MixAmp, I'm sure this will be helped a lot.

So far so good
I previously mentioned I'd be doing a gaming headset shootout for MW2's release (http://discuss.gdgt.com/turtle-beach/ear-force/x4... ), and it's underway! I've been "working" with the A40s (with Mixamp) so far and I have to say, I've been very impressed. Since the X41s and Trittons haven't come yet, I can't compare sound quality, but the Astro guys clearly paid a lot of attention to the...
