Available in versions starting with a $199 wired PC model, and going all the way up to $279 for a wireless edition that works with gaming consoles, the A40 is one of the best gaming headsets available, with great surround sound, a good mic, and a comfortable fit. If you want to go wireless, however, the new A50 is better alternative to the $279 version, which combines the A40 with Astro's Mixamp base and a belt-based receiver, since the A50 includes the Mixamp and integrates the belt pack into the headset, and sells for just $20 more.

Love my astros, they have been really awesome. The only issue I have had is that on of the ear pads started wearing from rubbing on the plastic it is connected to. They released an upgraded ear pad for the new model which works on all of them. I bought that for a few bucks and have been happy since.
