Available in versions starting with a $199 wired PC model, and going all the way up to $279 for a wireless edition that works with gaming consoles, the A40 is one of the best gaming headsets available, with great surround sound, a good mic, and a comfortable fit. If you want to go wireless, however, the new A50 is better alternative to the $279 version, which combines the A40 with Astro's Mixamp base and a belt-based receiver, since the A50 includes the Mixamp and integrates the belt pack into the headset, and sells for just $20 more.

The Astro A40 system is easily one of the best headsets/gaming audio systems we have ever tested. Expensive? Yes, but if you plan on using it with your PS3, 360, and PC, then it’s a sound investment.

Read the full review →The build of the Astro A40s is exceedingly good. Solid as a rock, the size adjustment stays where you put it, and the included cables are heavy-duty. I have owned mine for 10 months now, and use 'em all over the place. I can, as a musician, say that the stereo audio quality is better than...

They are unique, But the...
Read the full review →I'll start by saying these are my favorite headphones I've ever owned. Every part feels quality made, well though out, and sturdy. The sound quality is excellent, probably the best I've heard. They are very comfortable, reasonably light, and breath to keep your ears surprisingly...

Read the full review →These have been above and beyond my expectations for a headset. It integrates amazingly with my Xbox LIVE chat feature, as well as having great audio quality. Much cheaper and more practical than a surround speaker set. Pros: +Very high sound quality and the simulated surround sound is...
Read the full review →The A40s manage to deliver fantastic quality in all aspects of headset design. My only gripe with the actual headset is the padding that rests on top of your head - it feels cheap and there isn't enough cushion in that location. In all other aspects the A40 excels - with the only exception being...
Read the full review →Love my astros, they have been really awesome. The only issue I have had is that on of the ear pads started wearing from rubbing on the plastic it is connected to. They released an upgraded ear pad for the new model which works on all of them. I bought that for a few bucks and have been happy since.
