The high pitch whining of the 30 mm CPU fan was beginning to annoy me. So inspired by this article http://asrockion.wiki.zoho.com/silencing-the-ASRoc... I replaced the fan screws with rubber rivets. I have to say it is much better now. The high pitch noise is gone and whatever little sound is still coming from the fans does not bother me. So I know the description says this supports 1080p, but I'm curious about real-world performance, particularly running Windows 7. How good is it really?
I considered a Hackintosh install (too complicated), Windows 7 (too windowsy) and Debian (not sure why not), but in the end went with a minimal Ubuntu 9.04. I chose that OS because it seems to be well supported and tested, plus I like the control you have over a Linux install. So, what did you choose and why? Oh and does anyone have a good tip on a USB 802.11n adapter that's well supported under Ubuntu?
