Love Windows 7 so far. If you have XP or Vista, run, don't walk, to get it. That being said, it's acting weird w/ my 605 wifi. Files that were on the device already suddenly have to be "converted" by WMP. Not sure why, as they were in a proper enough format before. WMP supports DivX natively now, so that's great that it can actually do the conversion itself as opposed to needing a 3rd party app, but man is it going to take a loooooooooooooooooooooong time to convert all...

Is there any way to hack the Archos 605 wifi? Possibly put linux on it and use it as an internet tablet of sorts? If you can, would it be possible to use the WiFi on it for internet access? Any other ways of just playing around and hacking this device can be left in this thread as well.

I HATE iTunes, mostly due to its draconian DRM. So I purchased a 605. LOVE it. Well, LIKE it may be more appropriate. :( I love the concept and the specs are to die for, but it doesn't quite hit the mark for me. Can't really complain about the 605. I use it as my DVR and have no real problems. I like the build quality and also the UI. the battery is somewhat temperamental in that it goes flat after leaving it in the cradle after a week and doesn't quite hold a charge. But i can live with that. What did bother me though is that i had to purchase the dvr station seperately at an insane cost. 90 euro's back then.
