As a media player, this device is great. The screen is gorgeous...touch screen implementation is very smooth. Plays all my video files, music and pictures with very little issues. I don't know about the video recording feature, because I have yet to buy the dock, but if it is anything like the... Read the full review →

I first heard about this device on Mac Break Weekly and I was immediately interested in the device. This device is perfect for me for many reasons. * First and foremost it runs Android. As a Windows/Linux programmer, owning an iPhone is a bittersweet experience. The iPhone has so much potential and... Read the full review →
Perfectly sized to fit in a shirt pocket. A great Android-based alternative to a WiFi-based device such as the iPod Touch. I got the 32GB flash-based version and it's nice and solid. Recommend spending some time browsing the Media Club - especially if you're a CSPAN junkie, for example.... Read the full review →

I've had my 500 GB Archos 5 IT for almost a year now, and it's put up with a lot. It is an incredibly durable beast of a device it has survived being dropped on countless occasions (Remember there is a spinning HDD in there). There are tons of apps that work with the A5IT, I've never experienced a... Read the full review →

I purchased the 8gb version a few months after it came out. I used the device for about 8 months before I got bored of using it and but it in a box for future use/sale. While I used it, I was very happy with the device. I got to use the web, play games, and play almost any video codec (which was... Read the full review →

What can I say about the Archos 5 Internet Tablet? I was looking for a PMP as a christmas present and after using an iPod touch then an iPhone I wanted to try something different in a media player. I was a HTC Hero owner and had really gotten into Android OS so one of the first things I looked into... Read the full review →
Overall, we were left feeling a little unimpressed with the new Archos 5 Internet Tablet costing £70 more than the iPod touch at 64GB. The two might be very different in terms of hardware options (the Archos has a much nicer screen and can play Flash video, for instance) but we think to properly match and beat Apple, the price has to start a lot lower.
