Detailed review
This was my first Mac, and I bought it after being frustrated with flakiness I experienced from Dell and its lineup. It was this little machine that convinced me I was right to switch to Apple, and it's this little machine that reminds me how good Apple is about customer service. They replaced my MoBo and battery right before AppleCare ended, so I expect to get a good three or so years more out of the laptop.
At 12", my G4 is a powerful machine! It runs Leopard fine, though if you don't need all the features of Leopard, it runs Tiger much faster. It's size is perfect for the road, even better than a tiny netbook. I actually still carry this around with me some times, and I always get the "I didn't know Apple made such a cute laptop" comment.
For now, my G4 is perfect as a media server and dedicated media ripper/encoder/etc. Has a Firewire-400 port, which gives me a lot of media-related options (think: digital camera tethering). Also gives me a lot of opportunities to test out the security of my 15" MBP.
The one thing I really dislike about this computer is its monitor... which is not bright at all. This isn't a problem with the last-generation of PowerBooks, it's just a problem with the 12" version. For some reason, Apple decided not to include a quality LCD with the computer... and the user experience suffers slightly.
Other than the screen, I love my G4 and will certainly not be getting rid of it any time soon.
