I bought this because I thought that Mac OSX was great (Coming from Linux) ... it wasnt as good as linux for me.
It had some good programs, but the computer was so slow as time went on. I finally took off OSX and put on Linux, and the system was much better! If you have this system and want to make it usable again, put Linux on it. Ubuntu was the easiest to get everything working.
Why discontinuation of 12"?
I'm kind of bummed that Apple decided to discontinue making 12" screened MacBooks. I would have gotten a 12" MacBook Pro, if it was in existance. Anyone else?

Ubuntu on 12" powerbook G4
Been running Ubuntu 9.04 for about 2 weeks on 867 mhz Powerbook. Runs faster than with Leopard, As with all things Linux, everything works except no control over the screen brightness. All in all, for the basics it's better than most netbooks I've used.
