Detailed review
I never like Apple's selection of mice. The mighty mouse wasn't bad, except that the tiny scrolling ball gets dirty and stuck very easily. The Magic mouse is one of the worse mouse, ergonomically. I've been using a wireless Logitech mouse, but I find the extra dongle to be annoying and I don't really have good desktop space. Plus I'm getting in love with multi-touch on iOS devices. I love the glass trackpad on the Macbook Pros, so I decided to risk it and got the Magic Trackpad, and bot, it is actually pleasant to use!
First of all, the tracking area is huge. You never feel cramped in any way. Multi-touch gestures work great, although behaviors in some apps, especially 3rd party apps, can be inconsistent. I have no problems adjusting to the trackpad for normal computer use. In fact, I don't even use my mouse anymore. The only reason I could think of not to get this is if you play FPS games.
