Apple Magic Mouse Review - Is There Magic in Apple’s Magic Mouse?
Apple’s Magic Mouse is the first offering from Apple to mate the capabilities of a Multi-Touch surface with a movable mouse. The result may be the best mouse Apple has ever made or the worst, depending on your expectations. The Magic Mouse has good points and bad points, but it has great potential, especially if Apple makes a few minor changes to future releases of the mouse software. In the meantime, the Magic Mouse is intuitive and fun to use, but its ergonomics and lack of gesture customization may determine whether you love it or hate it.

Multi-touch first came to the iPhone and iPod touch, then the MacBook Pro, and now Apple is putting multi-touch into it’s latest mouse, the wireless Magic Mouse. The mouse has no moving scroll wheel, only a single button, which depending on how many fingers are on the mouse, accomplishes different tasks. While I was hesitant at first, I was easily surprised by how natural it feels to grasp the mouse, and gestures become natural within a few hours of use.

This is a nice idea and one when we heard the news very tempted by. While touch certainly is the future of the mouse, the Magic Mouse isn't that future just yet
Apple Magic Mouse review from TechRadar UK's expert reviews of Mice and trackballs
So, the Magic Mouse arrives with more of a whimper than a bang. It's a solid performer and definite improvement over all of Apple's previous mice, it's just that it feels like there's a lot more Apple could have done with this technology. We love Apple's desire to simplify everything down to the bare minimum, because with computers that means no horrible logos, unnecessary buttons on keyboards and an elegant operating system. However, with mice, less is sometimes just that - less.
Review: Magic Mouse
The Magic Mouse is everything that anti-Macists hate about Apple: It’s twee, too smart for its own good, and initially unusable to the uninitiated. Sadly, even Mac fanbois will feel the same way.

Based on pure aesthetics, Apple’s new Magic Mouse is a crowning achievement for the company's design team. Sophisticated, alluring, and downright stunning, the Magic Mouse epitomizes Apple style. Getting down to the nitty-gritty—actually using the mouse to get stuff done—I found that the Magic Mouse and its Multi-Touch features work well. But it may not be incentive enough to abandon your current mouse.

Apple's new wireless Magic Mouse gets a sleek makeover and even has multitouch controls, but it's better as a portable laptop companion rather than a full-size desktop accessory. The swiping gestures add interactivity to Web browsing and media, but the awkwardly narrow single button design leaves us reaching for better mice from Logitech and others.
You win some, you lose some: a review of Apple's Magic Mouse - Ars Technica
The multitouch capability and lack of a scroll ball to gum up are definite upgrades, but the loss of Exposé and Dashboard support about balance that out for me. If you like your Apple Mouse's pressure sensors and the ability to launch Exposé and Dashboard from your mouse, you may want to give the Magic Mouse a pass until Apple figures out a way to support those features with its new mosue. But if you're in love with multitouch and are tired of futzing with scroll wheels and scroll ball hand crud build-up, the Magic Mouse may be for you.

The Magic Mouse is undoubtedly the best mouse Apple's made in years. They've taken their knowledge in trackpad finger gestures and one-piece manufacturing and made this delicate, yet sturdy, bridge-shaped mouse. The question is how it compares to other mice.
