Takes some getting used to, but excellent in the long-run

There's no denying Apple's Magic Mouse takes some getting used to. It also takes some "calibration" on the user's part. I'm not just talking about calibrating the sensitivity of clicks, taps, and pointer speed -- I'm talking about physically calibrating the position of your wrist. Unlike any mouse I've used before, it's crucial that you handle the Magic Mouse at a natural wrist angle. I don't mind this temporary nuisance, because it pays off in long-term ergonomic benefits, and it's for a good cause: Once you are comfortable physically manipulating the mouse, it's a sheer joy to use. The built in functionality isn't *all* it could be, but the good news is that there's 3rd-party freeware called Magic Prefs that lets you add functionality. Want to add a gesture for expose? You can do it. How about opening your favorite program with a 3-finger tap? No problem. There is real magic in the magic mouse, you just need to spend a bit of time to find it.

I also wanted to add that for Apple multi-touch touchpad users, there's similar software that lets you use your touchpad even more than you can out of the box: It's called "Better Touch Tool" and it's an easy Google.
