The Magic Mouse is much better than the Mighty Mouse, which people hated, and might actually be good enough that non-Mac users might want to pick it up as well, supposing that they don't really care about ergonomics
Read the full review →Conclusion: We like it
The Magic Mouse is a little polarizing (as you can see from our wildly varying user and critic reviews). When we first took it on we'd heard of its dichotomous reputation as being either very uncomfortable or very pleasant to use. We're recommending it because we found it to be very much the latter. Being able to gesture and scroll with any finger almost anywhere on the entire surface makes the Magic Mouse surprisingly hard to live without and, as it turns out, actually affords a lighter, more flexible, more comfortable grip than most mice. If you use a PC or absolutely require more than a couple mouse buttons it's not right for you, but we were actually extremely surprised by how pleasurable to use the Magic Mouse really is.

Although it’s not perfect, the Magic Mouse successfully combines design and usability. It's great as a two-button wireless mouse, but if you need more than two buttons, the Magic Mouse is not for you.
Read the full review →The world's first gesture-based mouse, Apple's Bluetooth Magic Mouse exemplifies innovation and high design, but its compact profile and lack of buttons aren't for everyone.

Read the full review →Apple's new wireless Magic Mouse gets a sleek makeover and even has multitouch controls, ... The swiping gestures add interactivity to Web browsing and media, but the awkwardly narrow single button design leaves us reaching for better mice from Logitech and others.
Read the full review →If you're in love with multitouch and are tired of futzing with scroll wheels and scroll ball hand crud build-up, the Magic Mouse may be for you. If you're using a Logitech or some other third-party mouse and are wondering if it's time to give one of Apple's eccentric mice a shot, it isn't.
Read the full review →This is a nice idea and one when we heard the news very tempted by. While touch certainly is the future of the mouse, the Magic Mouse isn't that future just yet

Read the full review →... Apple seems to focus all their negative energy on making the worst mice known on the planet and then using delightful adjectives like “Mighty” and “Magic” that slowly become ironic. If you do any serious mousing at all, avoid the Magic Mouse.
Read the full review →While I was hesitant at first, I was easily surprised by how natural it feels to grasp the mouse, and gestures become natural within a few hours of use. I urge you to go to an Apple Store, or Best Buy (where I bought mine) and test one out before purchasing.
Read the full review →So, the Magic Mouse arrives with more of a whimper than a bang. It's a solid performer and definite improvement over all of Apple's previous mice, it's just that it feels like there's a lot more Apple could have done with this technology.
Read the full review →Apple can build a killer laptop, a killer phoneand a killer operating system, but a reasonable mouse still eludes the Cupertino company.
Read the full review →The Magic Mouse is one of the better mice Apple has ever made, but it does have some flaws, which is to be expected for the first generation of a new product.
Read the full review →---IMMEDIATE IMPRESSIONS--- The first thing that you'll notice with this mouse is how flat it is. I'm actually getting used to it now, but the need for adjustment made initial use a little awkward. ---SOLE PURPOSE: MOUSING--- It actually IS a very good mouse. My primary mouse before...
Read the full review →The Magic Mouse is a pretty cool device. It looks great and does its job well, but the comfort isn't as good for extended use as my trackball. Also, and this might be a silly complaint, but it's difficult to use if you have nails that are slightly longer than very closely trimmed because it's...
Read the full review →I recently purchased a Apple Cinema Display for my home office. Until then I was using my MacBook Pro 15" screen. I was a heavy gesture user on the MBP's touchpad. So, when I switched to the display, I really missed using those gestures. I bought the Magic Mouse to bridge that gap....
Read the full review →I love my Magic Mouse. I've been using a MacBook Air for about 18 months and haven't used a mouse at all other than at work (which is quite a bit, but it's on a WinPC in the military - no blue tooth allowed). I recently purchased the new MacMini (2.53/4GB/320GB) and needed a...
Read the full review →I really have no complaints about the Magic Mouse. It's a superb choice for a mouse and fits in perfectly with my Mac scheme on my desk. The design just so happens to fit the shape of my hand almost perfectly, however I find myself gripping the mouse on its sides and picking it up when I...
Read the full review →The Magic Mouse is beautiful, works well and feels solid. However, it hurts my hand whenever I use it. It is not ergonomic at all and cuts into the sides of my fingers whenever I try to make any gestures. In order to do some of the more advanced 2-finger gestures you have to contort your hand...
Read the full review →My biggest issue with the Magic Mouse lately is that after using a Macbook trackpad for multitouch gestures, my fingers feel cramped trying to do gestures on the Magic Mouse. Plus the surface isn't as smooth to the touch as the newer trackpads.
Read the full review →Apple's new mouse has been a pleasure to use despite some of the problems I've encountered. The Magic Mouse feels wonderful when scrolling. Just slide your finger down the middle of the mouse and like magic, it scrolls depending on how fast you slide you finger. Horizontal scrolling?...
Read the full review →First I have to say I would not have purchased this on my own, because I do not own a Mac. It was a gift, so I gave it a try on my Dell laptop. I am switching from a Logitech MX revolution. It's from Apple so design is good, and it actually is comfortable to use. Scrolling with touch is...
Read the full review →It's exceptionally designed, feels very nice in the hand even though it's a good bit lower than other mice, tracks any surface extremely well, and the multi-touch works like a dream. There are not many downsides to using this mouse if you have a mac, and those that are there (mouse...
