Contrary to my expectation the Macbook Air is doing really good as a dev machine too. It's however worth noting that 4GB of RAM is too less in today's scenario. The OS (without any app running) takes closer to a GB. And firefox (sucker) takes 1+ GB of RAM with just a few tabs open. Had to switch to Chrome. But in general, 4GB is so out of date in today's hardware scenario. Customizing and upgrading to 8GB is not really easy (only available via apple online store and takes time to ship).
