The MacBook Pro 15" w/ Retina display was just released. The display is fantastic, but it isn't yet on Apple's more accessible notebook. The MacBook Air is an easier choice for many by being a combination of (relatively more) affordable price, great form factor, long battery life, and sufficient computing power for everyday needs. Apple will likely keep all those characteristics in the brand so the Retina display for more consumers may take a little more time. Web and Apps At the moment, much of...

I love torrenting. I don't do it as much as I used to, but it's infinitely useful for free media and certainly the quickest way to get anything if you're willing to go through the hassle of trial and error. It's a pain to deal with my old laptop, searching for files, making sure the download finishes, transferring the file, sometimes using handbrake to convert the file, hoping it isn't in german or impossible to play, etc, but it's still better than paying money for music, movies and tv shows on...

Over the last few week my MacBook Air Corei7 model has been having issues with WiFi not connecting to my network at work and at home my iPhone Galaxy Nexus and other PC are all working I have done a restore of the MacBook Air with IOs 10.7.2 but it is still not working. Is this just my laptop or are other users seeing this issue ?
Im thinking of getting a new Air but am bothered by the lack of ethernet port. I do a lot of programming for a living and rely on an ethernet port quite heavily. Has anyone used the usb/ethernet connector with Macbook Air? Any problems/tips/advice you've come across?
What did you and your fellow gdgt users consider the most wanted gadgets for the month of November? Check out the following list! Samsung's Galaxy Nexus reigns supreme.
A few days ago Apple unveiled OS X Lion and a beautiful set of hardware to go along side it. One of those releases was the 13” Macbook Air which in its latest iteration includes Core i5/i7 Cpu’s, SSD’s, backlit keyboards and of course OS X Lion pre-installed. The Core i5/i7 alone is worth an upgrade if your a last gen Macbook Air owner and from the benchmarks on the web, performance has been outstanding. With such great performance and versatility coming from the 13” Macbook Air, a riff...

Anyone know if it is possible to make thunderbolt cross over or adapters or cables? For instance, to acomodate connecting a USB3 or FireWire 800 portable hard drive. Sure would be nice to use Thunderbolt for connectivity besides high end RAID. One TB USB3 pocket hard drives are under $100 now.
I have a late 2008 15" Macbook Pro that's starting to get a little long in the tooth, and I'm thinking about an upgrade soon. My first instinct was to go with another 15" Pro as, on rare occasions, I'll play a polygonal 3D game on the thing. Then I decided I didn't do that enough to justify the added cost and weight. As I've gone deeper into my consideration, I have found two other disconcerting limitations of the Air: 1. It has no matte screen option 2. It tops out at 4GB of RAM (which is not...

Just got my new 13" Air. I have the previous gen 13" sitting right now. The speakers in the new one are MUCH tinnier and are definitely sub-par, especially compared to the last gen which were pretty darn good. Guess they had to make room for the backlighting somewhere...anybody else notice?
I finally decided to order the MBA 13" and splurged for the Core i7 model. I ended up ordering it about :30 after Apple released it and I'm still waiting for it to arrive. It took about 2-3 business days to be built and then it's been another few days traveling from Shanghai, China to the U.S. Found out that a few people were actually able to get the i7 model in their local Apple Store, but I went with the information I received, which said that wasn't possible. Expecting it to get here by...
I currently use a 17" notebook as my primary machine. This is great in theory as it has a great screen and lots of muscle, but due to it's size and weight I rarely take it anywhere. As I am traveling more often now I need something more portable to take with me and would love to hear your opinions. Do you have a MacBook Air or other ultraportable that you love? How about a tablet that I couldn't pay you to stop using? In addition to basic web browsing I game and occasionally use my notebook for...
