The new ultrabooks that have been coming out have been comparable in price with MacBook Airs, but a MacBook Pro is still way more expensive than its Windows counterparts. Why is this?

Looking to buy an Ultrabook, some advice?
I have been looking at ultrabooks and prices.
So far the ones I am interested in the most are as follows:
ASUS Zenbook UX31E-XH71
HP Folio 13
Apple Macbook Air
Dell XPS 13
Lenovo Ideapad Yoga
Should I wait to see what the market does for Ultrabooks?
Some of these devices aren't even out yet, which is a downer. But will it be worth the wait?
If you have used any of these devices, what is something you specifically love about the device?
Any other advice/tips are appreciated, thank you.

I'm having trouble deciding between a Macbook Air and a Macbook Pro. Help?
Basically, I'd do the following things with a new laptop:
1.) Managing and editing photos (with iPhoto/Lightroom/Photoshop)
2.) Editing videos (mostly cuts, and some text effects)
3.) Main computing device, i.e., surfing the web, watching movies, etc.
Now I know the first two would immediately point me to the Macbook Pro but I'm really attracted with the Air's portability. While 13 inches is a screen size I've avoided all my life, with the advent of the iPad, I think I've grown accustomed to smaller... Read more →

Lightweight Twitter client for Windows on netbook/ultrabook?
Is there any decent Twitter client for available that does work well on a small display? I have a Macbook Air 11" running Windows 7 and used to use the Seesmic Desktop twitter client (the 1st version, written in Adobe Air). It served me well but is not actively developed anymore, and since the recent API changes from Twitter it doesn't work that well. I tried stuff like Tweetdeck and MetroTwit, but their windows are too frickin' large for my taste. I prefer something lightweight.

Am I missing the purpose of tablets?
I was able to pick up one of the $149 32GB HP Touchpads this past weekend and it was delivered yesterday. I was excited to get home and test it out, but I only ended up messing around with it for about 10 minutes after setup. I was sitting there trying to browse the web and scroll through screens, but I found myself wanting my 13" VAIO and wireless mouse instead. I am I just not a tablet person, or could this be attributed to hardware/WebOS? I wasn't thrilled with the mail app and testing out...

Does having a nice external monitor influence your choice of MacBook Air (11" vs. 13")?
If you have a good enough external monitor in your usual workspace at home or in the office, would that make your choice of MBA screen size a no brainer?

Are there any great Bluetooth travel mice?
I'm a big fan of Logitech's Anywhere Mouse MX - it has a dual mode scroll wheel, it tracks on glass, and it's just the right size to be both portable and useful. But it uses a tiny RF receiver that eats up one of the two slots on my MacBook Air, and there are (many) times when I'm forced to choose between connecting a modem or a mouse. All this would be solved if Logitech made a Bluetooth version, but they don't. The V470 doesn't work on glass (a too-common material for desks in hotel rooms) and...

What is best way to get more space on a Apple Air?
I am planning on getting an Apple Air. Its affordable ($949) with student discount. The thing is i have 3.4 GB of songs, 17.5 GB of Movies, 5.9 GB of iPhone Apps. Thats 26 GB or so. I was thinking to wait until iCloud launches where i can upload all my movies to the service. And then get my Air on which I will have only the songs and necessary iPhone Apps therefore limiting the space. I plan on getting the 64 GB Air. Any other ideas?
What's a GOOD universal notebook external battery?
Having retired all of my Air's, my Hypermacs are being used as basically big-ass USB chargers. And since I've bought the smaller USB-specific batteries from Hypermac recently, they're going to even be largely redundant from that role. I'll be unloading them shortly, but there are times I want that option of plug-in extra runtime without having to pick and choose which laptop battery I need to take with me. The Hypermacs have, if I'm not mistaken, only two voltages they can operate at - which is...

How do you add a printer from a Enterprise network on a Mac?
At work I can only print from this crappy Dell laptop that takes forever just to open a document. I accessed the printer by adding it from Internet Explorer via a network address. It had a list of all of the network printers and you can add them from there, but only on Internet Explorer. Does anyone know how I would add one of these from a Mac?

Battery life continues to deteriorate
When I bought my MBA the battery was good for about 4 hours. It could be modulated by turning the keyboard and screen light up and down and turning off the radio, etc.... At this point, it's good for about 2 hours only. I'm seriously considering getting a new battery in it. I'm not sure how long I should let it go. To be honest, I travel a ton, but I typically use my iPhone on airplanes and it's not impossible to find power receptacles in airports. I love Apple products, but...
HULU videos skipping in HD mode
1. Why did I spend $2.5k on a laptop that can't play videos from Hulu in HD? 2. When can I give Steve Jobs more money for a new form factor/real upgrade to this flawed piece of beauty?

Continous OSX freezing during general use
My AIR usually locks up when I am doing something very important. it just freezes, the whole screen. The OS locks up, can't move the mouse, I always have to do a hard reset. My last resort will be to wipe it and reinstall OSX. anyone else having these issues?

Overheating (aka poor performance) solution discussion
First of all by overheating I'm referring to the consequence of poor performance not burns or fires. My macbook air (late 2008 version) suffers from degraded performance a lot due to overheating when plugged-in or unplugged. Any video (hulu), game, or virtual machine (VMware Fusion) causes this problem. Most multi-tasking also. Basically anything other than browsing the harddrive or internet. I'm wondering what solutions people have taken. These are the few bits I've found on the...
