So Diablo 3 came out today. I popped in my DVD to install the game and my SuperDrive doesn't want to read the disc. That's strange, I said, so I popped in a CD I had recently ordered but had yet to rip and it wouldn't read that either.
Any ideas how I can see if it's completely dead, or if it just needs to be cleaned? Last time I used it 3 or so months ago, it worked just fine.
I only have 4GB of RAM on my MBP 17" model and using FCP X uses up all my RAM it takes forever to use. What is the max amount of RAM I can put on this MBP?
My desk setup currently consists of my Macbook Pro with a 24in ASUS VE245 plugged into my DVI-out port in via DisplayPort. I would absolutely love to be able to hook up another 24in monitor.
Since upgrading to Lion on Sunday, every time I unlock my computer my keyboard backlight comes on on full brightness. And every time this happens, I turn the backlight off. Anyway to get me out of this endless cycle?

I've decided to press some older unibodies that I've found into use around the home for general basharound netbook / media playback duties - I don't want to specifically buy larger SSD's for these and will be using spare 160Gb X25-M's - and thinking about when syncing videos etc temporarily locally, I'd like to have as much room possible for the Windows partition.
