SuperDrive no longer reading DVDs or CDs. How can I fix it?
details
So Diablo 3 came out today. I popped in my DVD to install the game and my SuperDrive doesn't want to read the disc. That's strange, I said, so I popped in a CD I had recently ordered but had yet to rip and it wouldn't read that either.

Any ideas how I can see if it's completely dead, or if it just needs to be cleaned? Last time I used it 3 or so months ago, it worked just fine.

Could anyone point me to links for installing the smallest possible OS X partition for full-time use of a Macbook Pro as a Windows machine?
details
I've decided to press some older unibodies that I've found into use around the home for general basharound netbook / media playback duties - I don't want to specifically buy larger SSD's for these and will be using spare 160Gb X25-M's - and thinking about when syncing videos etc temporarily locally, I'd like to have as much room possible for the Windows partition.

Am waiting for the new MBP refresh before I purchase and don't want to really pay the full Apple going rate if I want the full 8gig (if that's the max…
details
in the refresh). I've read and followed the links from the Enosone thread and was wondering: a) is there a UK based company that does similar to macsales.com? b) will either adding in more memory or swapping out the hard drive invalidate the warranty and do you get any crap from Apple if you send it back in with a fault? Thanks
