Does anyone use Final Cut on the latest MacBook Pros? What is my minimum specs you would determine it to be usable with?

My brother wants to use Final Cut on the go, but has a budget and wants to find the cheapest, but still usable, solution possible.

Do you think the next update will have i7 Arrandale or i7 Clarksfield?
