Although it didn't go through any major design changes, the MacBook Pro 15-inch delivers more battery life, better performance scores, and is still the best-looking mainstream laptop in the market.

If you’re after a premium machine and are willing to pay for it, you won’t feel as if you’ve over paid with the MacBook pro.

As an adjunct to a desktop system, this notebook is still great. I've replaced the original battery and hard drive, and should get at least another year out of this unit.

although state of the art in 2006, this first gen mbp has seen better days. but it has not required a major repair nor caused any meltdowns for me yet. i'm on my third battery and the optical drive shows its age. i plan to upgrade the internal hard drive to an ssd in the near future in the hopes...
