Detailed review
As a long time PC/Windows user, this was my first Mac. I have to say... I have not looked back since making the switch. Snow Leopard and the overall interface is great, but that's for another review.
The MBP unibody is a great all around machine. Hard drive & memory options scale to meet most middle to upper end user's needs. My primary uses on this machine are email, web, Photoshop, After Effects, and basic development -- all of which work great and run at reasonable speeds. Even Windows 7 (BootCamp) runs like a champ!
Usability: The backlit keyboard is priceless. Partnered with the bright, beautiful screen, it provides plenty of visibility for working in low-light areas. Built in wifi (802.11n), gigabit ethernet, bluetooth, SD slot, DVD burner, and more provide all the features that you need in a machine. The battery truly does provide up to 7 hours of run time. iSight camera quality is unparalleled and runs beautifully within iChat, Skype, and other video conference applications. And last, but certainly not least.... multitouch! Common commands are simple with swipes, twists, and clicks on the MT pad.
For HEAVY duty video processing, this may not be the machine for you. The NVIDIA GeForce 9400M may be a little slow for high-grade Final Cut Pro. But for everyone else, it is worth every penny!
