That said, it's not like you have any other choices if you want a Mac laptop, and we very much doubt you'll be unhappy with any of the new MacBook Pros unless you're one of the few people dependent on ExpressCard accessories or you have a clinical aversion to external battery packs....

Apple did two things simultaneously that are usually contradictory; they lowered the price of their entire MacBook Pro line while at the same time bumping up the specs. The 15-inch version now starts at $1699 and caps out at $2299, down from $1999 and $2499. What's even nicer is that the...
Read the full review →The new 13” MacBook Pro has many strengths making it a good notebook you should consider buying. It gets excellent battery life running OS X, it can game on integrated graphics, its screen looks excellent, and it has fantastic build quality. With that said its all-aluminum design causes heat to be...
Read the full review →Overall, Apple are continuing a great trend with their MacBook Pro line. The quality of build is excellent, little details like the external battery LEDs and the pulsing sleep indicator bring a touch of class. Sure, you pay more for a Mac than you would for the same hardware in a PC, but you get a...
Read the full review →Last year's arrival of the aluminium 'unibody' MacBooks was something of a revelation where laptop design was concerned. No surprises there really, if nothing else Apple is known for its great design. However, as impressive as the new MacBooks were, there were one or two niggling...
Read the full review →Screen (9/10) - In my opinion this has to be the biggest improvement on this MBP over the unibody Macbook. Apple claims that the gamut has improved by 60%, while I have not tested this the improvement in contrast and viewing angles is definitely there. The LED screen is instant on and very...
Read the full review →My first Mac. I'm 44, a longtime Windows guy. A couple of bad computer experiences led me to this. I'm also a student, so the "get a free iTouch" student rebate sounded good to me. I'm very impressed. The unibody construction blows everything else away on the market....
Read the full review →The new MacBook Pro 13-Inch ("new" is used loosely here, since the design dates from October '08) is a stunningly beautiful and exquisitely-crafted machine. It's simultaneously the best computing experience I've ever had and a frustrating reminder of how proprietary and...
Read the full review →Anyone who is reading this review has probably already a couple others, and knows about the basic features of the new 13 inch Macbook Pro. So I'm going to focus on comparing this to the Macbook Air for anyone who is unsure of which to purchase. I owned both the original MBA and the newest...
Read the full review →iam typing this review from the mbp, and its the best i have owned so far. not that i had good configs earlier. the feel of aluminium is just so good. overall it feels solid. love the box it came in. its just a little bigger and than the laptop itself. (i still have it, lol) the best thing i like...
Read the full review →I've been using this machine for a couple weeks now. It replaced a white Macbook that was about a year old. The unibody construction is very rigid and light. The laptop is less than an inch thick and only weighs 4.5 lbs. Because it is made of aluminum it seems much more scratch resistant...
Read the full review →I usually prefer buying desktops so I can have more expandability, and a bit more speed in things like hard drives. However, I had to get a laptop to give presentations on the go, and I don't regret getting the Macbook. The speed is great. There really hasn't been anything I wanted to...
Read the full review →I am a journalism student that is constantly on my laptop. I use it mostly for leisure, surfing the web, streaming videos, editing photos, editing songs, listening to music etc. For work; I am on it researching online sources, writing, writing and more writing. This laptop is perfect for me...
Read the full review →When I got this notebook in July of last year, I was worried that it wouldn't be a sufficient upgrade from my year-old white MacBook... I was wrong. This laptop has been (and still is) perfect for my needs. As a student, I need a laptop that's light, portable, has a comfortable...
Read the full review →I've had it for a few weeks now and love it. If you gave me $5000, there still isn't any other laptop I'd buy over this. It's the perfect size, fairly light, amazing build quality, and solid performance. I've installed 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD, and used Bootcamp to...

Read the full review →This is probably the most versatile and *beautiful* machine I've owned in my life. The battery life is lovely, it's great to look at, it's extremely fast, even with a dinky Core 2 Duo, and I honestly love it.
Read the full review →A good, solid computer. A little heavy for carrying everyday, but them's the breaks. I enjoy the computer, it's a good little powerhouse, and it's saved me in many tight situations. Would I recommend it over a ThinkPad? I'd have to think about that one...
Read the full review →As a long time PC/Windows user, this was my first Mac. I have to say... I have not looked back since making the switch. Snow Leopard and the overall interface is great, but that's for another review. The MBP unibody is a great all around machine. Hard drive & memory options scale to...
Read the full review →Having used PC's for 12+ years now, moving to the mac was more of a whim, but we'll say a well-informed whim. I bought this model because it was on the lower end of the price spectrum and I wanted a portable computer to check email, do some light browsing. Having looked at the...
