The MacBook Pro 15" w/ Retina display was just released. The display is fantastic, but it isn't yet on Apple's more accessible notebook. The MacBook Air is an easier choice for many by being a combination of (relatively more) affordable price, great form factor, long battery life, and sufficient computing power for everyday needs. I have a class coming up starting January 5 I will need widows 7. I use a Mac and do not want to use 7 but most of the work will be done learning the lower levels of the Microsoft OS. I jumped on the Lion bandwagon when I got my 4S for all the iCould compatibility. But after a month or two I've found that I don't use Mission Control (I liked expose better), and launch pad is useless, since I keep all my mostly used apps in stacks or quick launch with spotlight. And all the auto syncing of things to my phone is done by iTunes wirelessly. Theres a few other beefs I have too, but their minor. Have you been able to register for iTunes Match? What do you think of it, so far? Has it lived up to your expectations? What sorts of use cases do you see with it?

I got iOS5. I chose to Sync with iCloud rather than to Sync with iTunes. This means, information that was already on my phone via my BACKUP will be thrown into the cloud, which can then be thrown back DOWN to my iPhone. --Right now iTunes will not allow iCals information for the purpose of sending it to my iPhone. So 10.7.2. came out this morning alongside iOS 5 and I go to set up iCloud so I can take advantage of Find My Mac. I tell it that I don't want to sync mail, contacts, calendars or bookmarks because I don't use Apple Mail and have all my stuff stored in Google's cloud. I'd say I'm surprised there's no iBooks for Mac yet, but Apple seems to not take obvious courses of action fairly frequently, for reasons that are sometimes never known. Why do you think Apple hasn't released a version of iBooks for Mac? I wouldn't think the cost of porting the iOS app would be that high, so the only reasons I can think of are that they either think it would be a bad business move for some reason, or they're completely rewriting the app to provide some amazing new desktop...
I purchased a Macbook Pro 15" with 2.53 GHz and 4GB of ram. It is almost exactly one year old, it was purchased late august 2010. I upgraded to lion, and now the OS is running slower for me. Is this happening with other people?
