OS 9 was fun and brought cool stuff like built-in file encryption, Carbon, and paved the way for OS X. I miss OS 9, and the UI and sound effects. Plus, who can forget the Control Strip?

Mac OS 9 is the end to the Mac OS Classic line, it was getting long in the tooth, bloated without having features to show for it, and it was pretty unstable. In the end I just ran Virtual PC and emulated Windows 2000 to avoid crashing. It likely had better stability on systems it was designed...
