What is the best wireless (iOS AirPrint) All-in-one Printer for under $100?
My wife refuses to not get me a Christmas gift this year, so I'm at least asking for something that I can actually benefit from having. What brand and model of printer do my fellow gdgteers recommend? I'd like to stay between $50-100 if possible. I have an iPhone 4S, iPod Touch 4G, Apple TV, iPad 2 and a Mac Mini, if that helps the suggestions. Thanks guys!

Should I upgrade my Mac Mini (2010) to Lion before or after migrating data from my 10.6.6 Mac?
I have a Dell Mini 9 running Mac OS X 10.6.6 (hackintosh). I just received my Mac Mini (Mid 2010 release) and want to use Migration Assistant to move over all my user settings, files, etc from the Mini 9 to my Mac Mini. Should I upgrade to Lion first or migrate my data (using Migration Assistant or any other method) first?

windows pc similar to mac mini
i run our IT dept and i'm looking for options to upgrade our video conferencing. we currently just use two xp machines with logitech software. the pc's are hooked up to flat screen tv's so the picture quality leaves a lot to be desired. i'd love to upgrade the logitech cams to hd cams but we'd obviously need new hardware. my first thought were mac minis due to their size & relatively low price. i'm curious if there is a similar design to the mini for the windows pc market? my office is all...

Which Mac desktop should I buy; Mac Mini or iMac?
I already own two monitors and a mac wireless keyboard, so I am leaning towards the mini. I don't do any heavy video editing or play games. So I think the Mac Mini will do just fine, but I am still curious what others thing.

Can you store multiple instances of Time Machine, one from two separate machines, on a single external hard drive?
Sometime soon, I am planning to purchase a MacBook Air and Mac Mini. I also have a 1TB Seagate FreeAgent Desk USB external hard drive. In theory, I would like to connect the hard drive to my wireless router and make it accessible to both the Air and Mini via wireless LAN. Then I'd like to point Time Machine for both the Air and Mini at the same hard drive. One other alternative would be to connect the hard drive to the Mini and share the drive out to the Air via wireless LAN. Has anyone ever...

What's the best way to get media on my TV from my PC?
There's a multitude of options. Apple TV (too restrictive), Roku or Boxee boxes (bit expensive for my likings), numerous HDMI docking stations, WD TV I have a 1TB esata drive that I'd like to use for playback rather than going the wireless route, although would consider wireless. Any suggestions around the $100 mark?

I'm considering getting a second-hand Mac Pro for use as a media server and some light computing stuff like word processing, internet browsing and media…
consumption. The reason I'm considering a Mac Pro is upgradeability. A Mac mini looks good too because it's small but it's hard upgrading to a bigger harddisk if at all. With the Mac Pro you can easily swap out different parts like memory, harddisk, etc. Nowadays I watch all my media from my Apple TV or blu-ray player. This weekend I got the new Apple TV and it doesn't have storage so it's either rental or streaming from a computer on the network. I do rent a lot,...

I have a quick (or not so quick) question regarding Windows compatibility.
I currently own and use a HP desktop with Windows 7 for my PPL Education software (Private pilot's license), however, after owning a Macbook for 8 months which I use for virtual high school work & using my father's iMac for Adobe CS5 software, using the desktop induces much lethargy (note: personal opinion only). Also, the tower is simply titanic, and takes up a good amount of desk space - therefore, I would like to replace the desktop with a Mac Mini. However, my PPL software is...

For a while now I have been wanting to jump aboard the Mac OSX bandwagon.
I have been trying to find the easiest and cheapest way to achieve this (if the word cheap can even apply here, maybe less expensive is more accurate). Initially I thought about getting an iMac 21.5, then i thought about getting the MacBook Pro 13" so that if I want to take it with me I can. I think i'm pretty much decided on the MacBook Pro but I was thinking of another option. I totaled up how much a Mac Mini, upgraded to 4GB RAM, Magic Mouse and Wireless Keyboard would cost me and...

I'm using my Mac Mini pretty much exclusively for Front Row right now. I have it hooked up to a TV and my external hard drive with all my media.
Most of the time, the only input device I use is an Apple Remote. I have it set to automatically sleep after a few minutes. This worked while I had a keyboard plugged in, but since I rarely needed to use it, I finally unplugged it. But now it will never go to sleep on its own, and I always have to press the power button. I noticed that when I exit out of Front Row, there's a window saying it can't find a keyboard, and my assumption is this is why it isn't going to sleep. Is there...

Are you using this as an HTPC? What software do you use (Boxee? Plex?, et al.)? Does it work well for you?
I am trying to decide between the upcoming boxee box, something similar to that or a mac mini. Please opine.

When my Mac Mini is asleep, it will occasionally (every few hours, although I'm not sure how regular it is) wake up for a few seconds and then go back to…
sleep. Is this normal? I have it set to wake up on network access, which isn't something I really use. Do you think turning that off would stop it from doing this? It's in my bedroom, so it can be quite annoying when I'm trying to sleep.

I'm trying to connect my Mac Mini (the most recent model) to my LG HDTV.
I connected it using an HDMI cable, and while I'm getting the image on the TV, I can't get sound to play through the TV's speakers. If I go into system preferences and then sound, and click on the output tab, I see "Internal Speakers" and "LG TV". But when I select LG TV, I don't hear the sound, and the volume control in the menu bar becomes grayed out. Does anyone know how to get this to work?

I have the new Mac mini hooked up to my receiver, but the screen flickers everyone once in a while as if the HDMI signal was lost.
I replaced the HDMI cable once already and now I'm testing a third cable to hopefully identify the issue. I've also tried turning various functions on my receiver on and off but nothing helped. The receiver worked perfectly fine hooked up to my Apple TV or other devices, so I think the problem resides with the new Mac mini. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any possible troubleshooting suggestions?
