I tried zapping the PRAM numerous times as well as reseting the PMU. The only thing I can think of to try next is to start clean and reinstall everything. I have never done a fresh install on this system. Would doing a full reinstall possibly solve the problem? I did update to Snow Leopard, and keep current on updates. Thanks for help!
Died after 15 months. Left it plugged in while on vacation and somehow it powered itself on while we were gone and it fried itself.
Both the motherboard and hard drive were toast. I was pissed it was just past warranty but the thing is so cheap I just bought another one.

funny thing, my mac mini (2009 model purchased new in march 2010) did not come with a remote.
i souped it up with a faster larger hard disk (7200rpm 500gb) because apple is chintzy when spec-ing out their computers.

Mac Mini running Photoshop CS4 and Lightroom or Aperture
Anybody using the most recent version of Mac Mini with Photoshop CS4 and LR or Aperture? Is the machine fast enough? or must I go for a tower? I would continue to use an external raid for storing images via e-sata but it also has FW800 and USB2.0 connections. I would be buying the Mini with 4gigs of ram and the fastest processor available. Thoughts?

Which EyeTV product to buy?
I am looking into recording TV on my Mac Mini and read some great reviews about the Elgato EyeTV products. It seems the only difference between the EyeTV Hybrid and EyeTV 250 Plus is the Plus converts the video instead of your Mac doing the work. For a newer Intel Mac Mini, should I pay extra to have this option or just stick with the Hybrid?

What are the alternatives to a Mac Mini?
Looking for a small form factor PC to sit alongside my TV, any suggestions other than Mac Mini?

MAC Mini overscan issues.
I, like many other and using a MAC Mini as a Home Theater PC, and I need some help with solving the overscan problem. I have it hooked up to a PT-52LCX65, which is a 720p capable TV. I am not 100% certain, but I think the panel in this TV has a native resolution of 1366x768. I have read a lot of forums and it seems the best thing to do is to use DisplayConfigX. I need some specific help with the settings for this. I have tried creating a few different resolution/timing settings, but every time I...

Mac Mini and Light HD Video Editing
My wife really wants a Mac (thanks I'm A Mac...I A PC commercials), but we both have laptops and a 24" monitor at home. Therefore, an iMac or a Mac Book Pro really are worth the money for us (at least we do not think). We are going to do very basic picture editing (that iPhoto and Photoshop Elements should suffice) as well as light video editing. Probably 25% of our video will be HD. Mainly the "video editing" we will do is trimming clips and splicing them together and then...

Mac Mini Gaming Capabilities?
I'm looking at purchasing one of these for a gaming Mac. I already have a nice monitor, keyboard, whatever. I just want some kind of tower, or this, that has better graphics than my black macbook (nil). Does anyone who have this want to tell me how good the gaming capabilities are? Or, if anyone knows a better gaming tower? Im not opposed to buying non apple if it is cheaper and better. Thanks.

Remote Suggestions for Mac Mini
When using the Mac Mini as a HTPC are there any good recommendations for a remote besides the Apple Remote? Ideally looking to program buttons on a remote to open certain programs (Boxee, Hulu Desktop, Firefox, etc).

Using the New Mac Mini as a Mac based Home Theater PC
I'm really curious to hear from people who have integrated the Mac Mini into their home theater setup. I've searched around and read through several blogs (one in particular I can recommend is http://macminihometheater.blogspot.com/) and it seems like with a little tinkering the mini can really serve as the ultimate digital media resource. Anyone currently doing this and glad they did it? Also I'd be interested to know whether it's worth shelling out the extra cash for the best...

Upgrading RAM
I am currently using my mac mini (current gen with core duo) as my desktop and am starting to use it to develop iPhone apps. I would really like to upgrade the RAM from 1gb to at least 2 or more. I have seen many videos explaining how to do just this, but I wanted to see what people here thought about it. The employee at the Apple Store told me that the mini is the only Apple machine that you shouldn't upgrade yourself because it voids your warranty. What do you all have to say about this?

Mac mini as Home Theater PC
I highly doubt that I am the only person out there using the Mac mini as an HTPC. Personally, I would never use it for anything else. It's limited upgrade capacity means that in order for it to see any serious desktop use, you need a ton of external devices hooked up to it. That mess will completely destroy the benefit of having something so small. However, as a HTPC, I doubt I would ever use anything else besides a Mac mini. It's small and silent, which are both extremely important...

Is the Mac mini a good alternative to the iMac?
I was shopping for a net-top for my girlfriend and, after some number crunching, found that a Mac mini with 2GB of RAM and a 24-inch Dell monitor cost almost half as much as a 24-inch iMac. Sure the specs aren't all that impressive on the mini... but I figured it was plenty for what she would use it for. Plus, when she's not using the monitor I can plug it in to my macBook Pro ;) Did I make a mistake by going with the Mac mini instead of the iMac? Bonus question: Will the Mac mini be...
