MacBook Pro --> LED Display x2.. #noob-question
details
I am a complete noob when it comes to hooking up laptops to moniters. Does anyone know how or have a link to how to hook up a MBP to the LED display? Also, is it possible to connect it to 2 LED displays from one macbook? ive seen on youtube where they just move the mouse across towards the other display, and it moves to that one... sorry for the noob question. Thanks in advance!

Any reason not to get this refurbished?
details
The refurbished price on the Apple Store is amazing, and I know they do a great job refurbishing their products. When it comes to displays, though, I know there are some reasons not to go refurbished. For instance, when buying a refurbished LCD, you don't know how much time the original owner kept the device on, and since certain parts of the device have a limited lifespan, you don't really know what you're getting. I have heard this is NOT the case with LEDs, but there may be other... Read more →

Anyone know of a good monitor-specific brightness control app?
details
Messers Jobs and Ive's war on buttons has led to the Apple cinema display being (I think) Apple's first and only buttonless device (even the Airport range have reset buttons). One of the admittedly small downsides to this is the lack of specific brightness control. You can adjust the brightness in System Preferences, sure, but that's a bit of a trek away for a quick adjustment. Anyone know a good tool, preferably a menubar item, that can control the brightness of individual monitors?

Aesthetics - is there anything comparable?
details
I have an iMac and will soon be getting a MacBook. As I expand my workplace, I found that I will have room and budget for a monitor such as this one - but not quite enough budget for this $900 beauty. Does anyone know of a monitor with a similar stand (the beautiful curved aluminum) that can be had for a better price? I want to keep a smooth flow between the design of my computers and a matching monitor is 100% necessary, or I simply will not get one.

Worth the money?
details
I'm in the market for a new monitor. The Apple LED 24-incher looks great, but is it worth the money? It lists for $899 (but for a few more weeks I can get a student discount to $799). The comparable Dell 2408WFP is only $550 - a $250 savings from my discount price. There are a few differences, of course: the Apple comes with built-in speakers, microphone, and camera, has an LED backlight and a glossy screen. I think this monitor is gorgeous, but I'm not sure I can justify the price...

Other Devices
details
I wouldn't trade this monitor for anything. I just wish I could plug more stuff into it. Since Mini DisplayPort is technically an industry standard, somebody really should come up with a box of sorts that allows HDMI devices to plug into it that would utilize the Mini DP connection and the USB (for sound, webcam and mic). With the built-in speakers, webcam and mic, this could be the ultimate monitor for the 360 especially at LAN parties or when I take a road trip or something.
