Anything better than spray air and a Q-Tip?

I'm looking for a padded rest that pairs well with a wired aluminum keyboard & an optical mouse.

I've been developing pains in my wrist, and part of that is because I don't practice good ergonomics, but, also, my desk is set a little higher than my chair can rise, so my arms angle upwards and rest on the edge. I should also stop using my Moleskine as a mousepad, which is probably 3x as thick as a normal mousepad.

Looking for good/cheap recommendations if you got 'em.

I've noticed this happening a lot over the past few months. I'll leave my desk for a few minutes, come back to my computer (screen saver not engaged) and start typing something into a text field and my computer will often ignore the first few characters. It's really weird to start typing something like, "I dislike brussels sprouts" in an email and find out that I ultimately typed, "like brussels sprouts." I don't mean the the smaller version without the full size arrow keys (http://gdgt.com/apple/wired-keyboard/ ), but literally this same keyboard, just without the numeric keypad on the right.

All of the buttons work perfectly on my keyboard, apart from the play button (F8). Does anyone know a cunning way of getting it working again?
