Detailed review
Doesn't hold up to iOS 5. For some reason (I don't know if this was Apple's intention to get you to buy more products from them) the iPod Touch isn't nearly as fast as it was on iOS 4.x. Now, usually, the "Slide to Unlock" screen has multiple freezes and even the music app has some trouble opening (with no other apps multitasking).

I've updated to iOS 5 just fine and have yet to experience any real lag or hangups that weren't already present in iOS 4, perhaps it's your device specifically and it could use a clean install from recovery?
