The US Copyright Office in 2010, stated Jailbreaking iOS devices is legal. Now this exemption is running out. I would like to hear what you think about rooting or jailbreaking. I'm doing some research of my own and want any information, whether you oppose Jailbreaking/Rooting or you're in favor, I want to know. So iOS 5 is out. Personally I like it a lot. Seems to me that this is also the general sentiment (aside of some initial traffic overload problems). I almost forgot that Apple charged $15 (or was it $20?) for OS updates for the Touches. Seemed really lame at the time, but even more so now that we expect these type of updates are expected to be free.

And aside from the Retina Display and the front-facing camera, do you see Apple changing the design of the current iPod touch to something more iPhone 4-like?
I am looking at alternative uses for my touch other than just ebaying it. I was thinking about mounting my iPod touch in a room with dedicated speakers. I don't want to have to deal with syncing it though. Can I access my iTunes library via wifi and just stream it?
If apple will not leave att why not do this so we can get a data plan with any company. Do we really need the cell? a $90 plan for the ipone, why not a $29.99 iphone and get unlimited data and voice calls over skype?
I remember hearing people asking for something like this when the touch first came out, but now Apple actually has a product with this functionality. The iPad of course has a version with 3G that's contract free and data-only and I could definitely see them taking a similar route with the touch.

Hey I recently got a iPod Touch 3G. I already have a iPod Touch 1G. I turned on both, to compare, and found that the colors of the 1G screen is way better than those of the 3G. That doesn't make much sense to me, as afaik it should be the same screen? The colors are more weak and white tends to be more yellowish on the 3G compared to the 1G.. Have anybody else observed this? and might somebody have an explanation? - Jonathan
