Orientation switch turned into mute button!
details
I jailbroke my iPod Touch 3rd gen, and as a result there was an option in the settings to change the orientation lock button in the multitasking bar into the mute switch. This option should only be available on the iPad, but I foolishly pressed it.
Since then there has been a black square where the orientation lock should be and it does nothing when pressed. This change has backed up and then restored onto my new iPhone 4S, but it is an even bigger problem as my hardware mute switch now turns on... Read more →

Do you keep your iDevices long enough to develop "beautiful" wear?
details
Last month's Wired magazine had a short piece by Steven Levy regarding the Smart Cover on the iPad 2 and the somewhat contentious relationship Apple has with accessory makers, and how the Smart Cover kind of 1-ups them. http://www.wired.com/magazine/2011/05/pr_levy_smar... iOS 5 rendered my iPod Touch's screen (3rd. gen) inoperable. Anyone else come across this problem?
details
I've had a third generation iPod Touch for a little over a year now. Great device, loved using it as my daily driver. Unfortunately, it gets very little use these days; I switched from T-Mobile this past December for the iPhone 4 and haven't looked back. With that being said, when the iOS 5 beta was released a few days ago, I immediately had the perfect device to tested with. I quickly shot out an email to a friend of mine who develops, he proceeded to register my UUID, and then I updated the... Read more →

Favorite iOS 5 features so far?
details
Notifications is an obvious and early favorite, but I have to say, I'm personally REALLY digging the lock screen camera shortcut + volume shutter button, and the iPad split screen keyboard and tabbed browsing. Reminders seems conceptually half-baked to me, and doesn't do enough to take the role of a dedicated personal task management system (kind of like how Notes could never replace something like Simplenote for me). Reading List may have potential, but it's like they knocked off the least...

What's a good messenger bag that you use daily? (To hold gadgets + books? + binders?)
details
I'm looking for a good messenger bag that I can use daily to hold my things: MacBook Pro 15" on occasions, several textbooks and ring binders as well. I might get an eReader as well later on , but basically the bag should be quite spacious and durable. What are some brands and models that you guys can suggest?
