Detailed review
Besides spending an ungodly amount on the 32gb iPod Touch when it was released ($499 + $10 just to upgrade to version 2.0 of the OS), the device hasn't really impressed me all that much. I'm a Windows user so my experience with iTunes may be worse than what Mac users experience, but I found myself dreading having to plug my device in since it was a crap shoot on if iTunes would load, crash, demand to be updated or a combination of any of these.

The device itself isn't too bad, I only use it for mail, browsing and apps (not music or video) so I can only judge it on those features. Mail and browsing are acceptable although performance is pretty bad on large inboxes or complex web pages.

The place the iPod Touch really shines is the apps. If it weren't for the apps, I would have sold it a long time ago.

Now that OS 3.0 is out, I'm really annoyed that I didn't get a 2nd generation device since I lose out on the Bluetooth stuff.

Overall the Touch is a nice device but do yourself and favor and get a 2nd gen or later version of the hardware.
