what if i forgot my pass code for my ipod touch??

Its an ipod touch first generation and i got it from a friend... i kinda accidently put the setting as a passcode... and well i asked him for the passcode but he doesnt know it either... i've looked at videos on youtube to see if it can help... but so far no luck... :(... wat will help to get my ipod workin again...it doesnt matter if i have to reset everything.. i juss want it to work again...
