Archive pedometer data
Put together a little bash script to archive my pedometer data from the new Nano. Only works under OS X right now. http://www.personal.psu.edu/mdo115/blogs/usefulhac...

Camera lens in odd place?
I looked at one of these at the Apple Store and it seems that the camera lens sits right under where you want to put your finger when taking a picture or movie. Does anyone else but me think this is a problem? Since I haven't used one for an extended period, I don't know if you get used to the odd location, or figure out another way to hold it. It just seems very un-Apple like to have what seems like such awkward ergonomics.

Best Case?
I am coming from a 3rd generation nano and had the best polycarbonate case with spring loaded clip from Contour. I am having a heck of a time finding a good case with belt clip for the 5th gen nano. Any ideas? Only one I have seen is the iSkin Duo. But it looks 1/2 as sturdy as my old contour one.

Downloadable games question!
Hi, I have a question about the downloadable games for the nano 5g. I believe that the same 20 or 30 click-wheel games that run on earlier Nano's and recent iPod Classics are available for the Nano 5g. But, the current Nano has a bigger screen with a different resolution. How do the games translate? I would love to try the Square games for iPod, as well as Tetris, pole position, etc. Thanks for your help!

Brightness
Don't really like the brightness settings. I usually keep it as low as it can go to save battery. On all the way low the brightness is about the same as 3/4 on the 3th gen. Besides that and the little bit lower battery life... I am loving it!

Worth the buy?
With a video camera, pedometer, radio, and other updates, is the iPod nano 5th gen. really worth the buy?

Looking for a decent remote
My prior iPod for outside the house was a 5th gen iPod (before it became the iPod Classic), and used a nice little remote that looked like a 2nd gen iPod Shuffle (if you ignore the cable from the remote down to the iPod, which surprisingly many do). It did add an FM radio to the iPod. Alas, when I plug it into my new iPod Nano, it says "not supported". Am I right that I need an iPod Shuffle remote (which means either Apple earbuds, or one of these adaptors where the remote is right...

Stereo video recording?
I've noticed that the sample video available in the Ars Technica review has two audio channels. Does the new Nano record sound in stereo?

battery not as good as expected
Anyone else think that their nano isn't lasting as long as it should on a full charge?? ...not even close to as long as the 4th gen? So I bought the 5th gen iPod Nano and it's pretty fun, the camera and radio are nice bonuses. sort of miffed that it won't charge when connected in my car (Alpine Head Unit with iPod adapter) but the real downer is that the battery life is much worse than the 4th gen Nano. I listen to podcasts all day long and when I get home there is still more than...

So can I get this instead of a Flip Mino(HD)?
I was looking into getting a Flip Mino or MinoHD (http://gdgt.com/pure-digital/flip/mino/ ), but now I'm thinking I might just pick up one of these bad boys. What do you think? Is it gonna be good quality like the Mino?

Video Nano!
I must say, catching some video on the Nano and not needing another device or Flip video camera is pretty damn cool! I got my 3rd gen Nano for free, but I might sell it for this one.........
