Is there a way to disable the screen's backlight during video playback?
details
I like to download the video versions of some podcasts in case there is some visual aspect in the show. Most of the time, I'm not watching the screen, only listening, so it would be nice to disable the backlight to save battery life. I keep it on the lowest brightness setting already, I wish it went down more (even to all the way off). Are there any hacks or ideas on how to disable the backlight during video playback? Thank you.

I have both an iPod Nano (5th gen), and an iPod Touch (2nd gen), both 8GB.
details
I have them synced to the same single library on my MacBook Pro, with everything up to date. Recently (and just for fun), I looked at the number of songs on both iPods. My iPod Nano has 1,203 songs on it, but my iPod Touch has only 1,020. Again, they sync from the same library. I do have "sync only checked songs" selected on both (as my library is too big to fit). I have some free space on each (about 250-300 MB on each), so I see no reason as to why the song count would be different...

My first day working out with the new iPod, my iPod kept doing weird stuff like skip to the next song or pause. I was instantly upset because it was becoming a bother after the 3rd or 4th time. Although it's... Read more →
