Detailed review
As an avid runner, I needed something that both suited my everyday life and could be my running companion on long, lonely runs. My iPod nano fit perfectly into my life and it seems like anytime I am not at my computer, my iPod is with me. I would whole heartedly recommend this product to anyone who has a similar lifestyle.
It is very small which is great for running because it can easily fit into the pockets of my running shorts, but it is better than the shuffle because it still has the beautiful, high-resolution screen that other iPods have, allowing me to see what I am doing and watch shows. The obvious downside to being so small is that it is easy to lose but as long as you are somewhat organized, it shouldn't be too hard to keep track of.
Being so small, one might think it is fragile but, in fact, it is quite sturdy and resilient. I have dropped mine numerous times and it has made it through more than its fair share of runs, rollercoaster rides, and kids playing with it and it has come out with no more than a few light scratches on the back (which are easily avoided with any sort of cheap case).
It has a decent amount of memory (8gb or 16gb) which I find to be perfect because it is small enough that it makes me update my library regularly with new music to listen to while large enough to always have my favorites. Some people like walking around with huge 50000 song libraries on them but I like my choice to be a little more select.
The battery life is very good, I can't really give a good estimate on how long the battery will last because I have never had a problem with the battery life seeming short. If you sit there playing games, it does tend to burn the battery life quite a bit more but that is to be expected.
I needed something that I could run with as well as something for everyday use and I found this to be the perfect hybrid so I would not have to go blow money on a classic iPod and a shuffle. The price of $149 (or $199) is quite reasonable compared to if you go and buy 2 other iPods.
I hope you find my review helpful, contact me if you want to know more, etc. :D
