I want to stream the same music from iTunes to multiple places in the house via iPods. Is there a way to do this so that all of the music is synced via an app of the native shared iTunes library?

I'm curious to know what the 30 pin Apple iPod/iPhone/iPad connector (or any other proprietary connector for that matter) has over a traditional USB or other standard adapter.

I know I tagged this post with a few Apple products -- but this can really apply to any gadget. Recently, I was reflecting on this though. I sold my 2nd-gen iPod (which was the first Apple product I ever owned and started me on the long, sad path to Apple fanboyism) to a coworker a few years ago. In hindsight, I kind of regret it.
