How can I find out what my wifes other apple ids are if I don't know them? All I have is the phone number which is under my account with AT&T.
details
I know she has other apple ID's but I don't have any clue what they are. What I believe and am almost certain she has another yahoo email account that I don't know the name to either. The reason I think think this is because on the PC you can look at the history. But if you click on the URL it takes you too the username & sign in home screen for yahoo. She doesn't ever delete her emails. So when the history says yahoo mail click that and a bunch of sub url's come up. Some say unread messages... Read more →

With great iPhone there is great collection of Apps, so how do we make one?
details
Making new app..but got no idea!
Competition: Honestly there is billions of apps, and majority have done it really great. So when you launching a new app, you got to be sure, you have something that others have not done it or not done it well before.
Usability is the key to design/develop great apps, but iPhone has proven that it can also come with beauty and elegance. Ever wondered, why all of sudden everyone falls in love with iOS apps? That’s because they can enjoy great user experience with... Read more →

Photo quality through integrated camera cover glass?
details
http://notesofgenius.com/media/2012/10/LG-Nexus-4-Camera.jpg
Although the iPhone 4 was the first mainstream smartphone to have a full glass back, the Nexus 4 seems to be the first phone to have the entire back cover also act as the camera cover glass. Theoretically, Gorilla Glass 2 would be good for the durability of the camera area but is Gorilla Glass 2 glass of the same optical grade as other cover glass used on smartphone cameras? Although the "cover glass" is not the same as the "lens", I... Read more →

details
This morning a letter was posted to the Apple website (http://www.apple.com/letter-from-tim-cook-on-maps... from Tim Cook apologizing for how Apple “fell short on their commitment” with Maps. Here is the full letter if you can not access it at work:

Windows 8 and the Myth of the All-Purpose Device
details
With the release of Windows 8 and its ecosystem of hardware near at hand, I have been thinking about the ancient (in technology years) myth of the all-purpose device. This myth is one every geek knows and dreams of. The idea of having a single device that you carry around that can meet all of the technology needs you have is one that has captured the imagination since the days of the first "portable" computers. For geeks everywhere, though, it is ultimately a dream that leaves us depressed and... Read more →

I love Gdgt, but...
details
...but I can't help but notice that all the reviews of Apple products get significantly higher scores and much, much more positive reviews than competitors. Take Apple's iPhone 4S. Gdgt claims it has a "speedy processer", but clocking in at 800 MHz, the original Google Nexus one, a device made in January 2010 *creams* it at 1GHz! Also, it's RAM is 200MB, while Samsung's S III has 10 times that much! An "even better camera?" at 8MP, HTC's Titan II has *double* that, with it's 16MP back camera! "A... Read more →

Adding a category: Cases
details
Choosing a smartphone/tablet case SUCKS! It is probably the most difficult tech-product to choose. Which is gdgt's goal: helping people choose the gadget or product that is best suited for them. So, I think you should make a "Cases" category, which will be divided into sub-categories, for each device. Of course, only the popular devices, like the iPhone 4/4S, iPad 2/new iPad, Samsung Galaxy S III, another Android device (HTC One X, for example)...

Power of iPhone
details
The 4S is an awesome phone!!! Lots of great features and the A5 processor make it almost as powerful as a laptop. I realized exactly how valuable this device will be. After streaming a movie, he brought up a "Keynote" presentation on the large screen. It was then I realized with the appropriate peripherals mainly a Bluetooth keyboard and an Apple cable connected to a large monitor, this device can be used on business trips instead of my laptop. Still have some more playing to do with it but the...

Can Aereo finally be the company to disrupt TV and bring cord cutting to the masses?
details
http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/08/aereologo.jpg
If you haven’t heard of Aereo before it’s probably because they’re a new company focusing on the New York metro area but it’s something you should be paying attention to. Aereo is a company that is taking over-the-air (OTA) broadcasts*** and making them available to you from anywhere via iPad, iPhone, Safari on Mac, AppleTV and Roku (Android, PC and additional device support coming this summer). From the Aereo press... Read more →

An iPhone user five years later: I'm trying Android
details
http://media.gdgt.com/img/product/1/iphone-1st-gen-2wu-640.jpg
Five years ago today the original iPhone launched. I remember it very well -- partly because it seemed like half the staff of Engadget was crashing at my place for the initial US release. The hype was totally out of control considering the first iPhone was a $600 unsubsidized 2G device on a single US carrier. Still, it felt like the future. It WAS the future. I've used every subsequent model of iPhone every day since.
A lot's happened... Read more →

Best advice for iPhone dropped in water?
details
I accidentally dropped my iPhone in the toilet last night! I grabbed it right as it slid in there, only hit the water for a fraction of a second. Instantly shook it off and toweled it dry. Turned it off and immediately jammed it into a bag of uncooked white rice because I've always heard that helps.
I checked it this morning, 12 hours later, and everything seemed to actually be working great. The only problem seemed to be the mute/silent switch was acting up. I turned it back off and left it in... Read more →

Are We Over Plastic Smartphones?
details
There is no doubt that the Samsung Galaxy S III has an impressive spec sheet. Even though the phone doesn't bring much new to the table, it appears that it will be competing with HTC's One X for the throne atop the Android mountain. One part of Samsung's new device has me less than impressed though.
The device is a totally plastic, wholly generic, typically Samsung design. In the age of One S, X, Lumia 900, and the iPhone 4S, the look and feel of the Galaxy S III is out of step. Build quality... Read more →

Apple's next product?
details
Asked by The Daily Telegraph which one Apple product he would like to be remembered by, Apple head of design Sir Jony Ive replied :
“It’s a really tough one. A lot does seem to come back to the fact that what we’re working on now feels like the most important and the best work we’ve done, and so it would be what we’re working on right now, which of course I can’t tell you about.”
What could Sir Jony and Apple be possibly working on? Share your ideas with the gdgt community here!
