This was my first iPhone after having a 1st generation iPod touch for 2 years, and wow can you notice a massive speed increase. S is for speed, especially with graphically intense apps. Hero of Sparta in particular is amazing. The new 3.2 megapixel camera is quite clear, and once again makes taking pictures whenever convenient. With the addition of VGA video, and one tap upload the iPhone 3GS becomes truly dangerous. With Mobile Me, uploading picture and videos are a a snap as well. One of the most noticeable hardware improvements is a really loud speaker, making speaker phone, and listening to music useable. If you have an iPhone 3G maybe not a necessary upgrade, but like Snow Leopard if you see value in everyday performance then its worth it. Apple improves on the basics with a solid performance based update that keeps the iPhone on top!
