I have been searching for days for a specific product. I'm trying to find a simple, small, bluetooth remote control for a smartphone, and it doesn't seem like such a product exists. I have a car with bluetooth phone support, but not A2DP, so I've purchased a Tunelink to get music and podcasts to my car stereo, and I love it! The problem is, I'm really not comfortable controlling my audio via my phone's screen. It's simply not safe to use a touchscreen while driving, and I'm driving all the time...

I recently dug my first generation iPhone out of a drawer and wanted to install some apps on it but most apps these days require at least iOS 4 to run. Is there a Cydia tweak that I can get to install these apps? I know not everything will work properly in the app via a hack like this but is it possible?
I Brought A App About 1 Or 2 Years Ago, And It Has Since Changed Its Name, But Still The Same App, I Have Just Gone To Download It Again, And It Now Wants To Charge Me, I Know Its Only £1.99 But Still I Dont Want To Have To Repay For The Same Apps .... Is Their Anything I Can Do? This Is The IOS App Store ...... Also Can Anyone Recomend A Decent Remote Desktop App? For My iPad ? Thanks
I've been using iOS since back in the day when it was called "iPhone OS" (i.e. 1.0 - 3.0), and I recently realized that I've never done a full manual restore of my iPhone system state. Everything I've got on my device(s) have been carried with me through successive backups and upgrades and each new iPhone release since 2007. Call me crazy, but there's got to be a lot of junk in there gumming up the works. (For more on that topic, see this awesome thread on bit-rot:...

The boy (my almost 5 year old) smashed up the glass on his iPhone 3G pretty bad. I gave this phone to him when I upgraded my wife to the iPhone 4. Are there any do-it-yourself fixes? How much would it cost to have it done at an Apple store? Do they even do that? He's pretty bummed out. He's a total whiz at Angry Birds and Cut the Rope and I had finally got him to use a few neat reading and math apps I found. Thanks.
- at no point have I 'taught it' to autocorrect this - issue persists after autocorrect database reset - issue persists after format + OS re-installation - it's been like this Før all OS releases since I got it 3 years ago - jailbroken if that matters
I'd like to use an old iPhone as a Wi-Fi only iPod, but I don't want to leave it in airplane mode all the time. Is there a setting I can change to make it never activate, or forget its phone information (like phone number, IMEI, etc)? Thanks!
Apple (and many other hardware manufacturers) often leave their early adopters and those using older hardware behind when they push out new operating system updates. One particularly sore point is with mobile devices. Those still using the original iPhone or iPhone 3G cannot run the latest builds of iOS 4 (and soon, iOS 5). However, there is apparently an option for those of you yearning for new software. It's a custom firmware build called Whited00r. I've actually never heard of it until I just...

There are a few articles floating around the blogosphere the past few days that claim only 50% of iPhone users have ever sync'd their devices with iTunes. This seems insanely low to me. That said, I was talking to some folks at a party this weekend and they claimed they haven't connected their iPhone to their computer in almost a year (and these are relatively tech savvy people.) From AppleInsider: According to a blogger report by OneFPS, about half of the Apple Store customers who need to have...

There are a number of interesting (if not cheesy) external lenses available for the iPhone. have you tried any of them? I've really enjoyed using my iPhone 4 for random photography and am seriously considering picking a set up. Our friends at Photojojo sell a set and there is also an interesting Kickstarter project that I'm thinking about supporting. So, have you used any of these with your iPhone? If so, what do you think? Share some examples! Photojojo / iPhone lenses:...

The iPhone 3G (model A1241), released in 2008, combines all the revolutionary features of iPhone with 3G networking that is twice as fast as the first generation iPhone, as well as built-in GPS for expanded location based mobile services, and iPhone 2.0 software which includes support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and runs the hundreds of third party applications already built with the iPhone SDK.
The 8GB iPhone 3G made specifically for the China market as model number A1324 was launched in October 2009 by China Unicom and lacks WiFi capability.
