Seeing some previews of what Android 3.0 is going to be, it looks like you can do a lot from the home screen beyond: widgets, desktop OS-like functionality, etc. But with all that functionality adds more complexity for the user. I have to admit, I was almost getting lost watching videos of how a user would navigate through the OS. This is a big contrast to iOS' super simple icon grid, though limited, interface. EDIT: I forgot to mention the Playbook. I think it definitely has promise,...

While using the Kindle app, do you notice your Apple device just plowing through battery life?
It's something I've noticed recently while reading on various forms of public transportation or in a cafe. An hour or so of reading will usually result in about 15-20% battery loss. This seems pretty excessive to me. It seems like the Kindle app is using 3G or wifi to constantly keep things sync'd every time I turn a page, but I could be wrong. But it seems like this could be the main issue.

I work in IT, and for the most part, am toting around an ipad, a couple file folders, maybe a digital camera, and various other things.
I would love a slingbag or something nice to throw over my shoulder that I could store my ipad, and a few other small things. I dont want a backpack, and I dont want it to stick out. Almost like a messenger bag or something like that. Simple, easy and useful. Any recommendations?

I have the iPad and use it constantly through out the day. It has replaced my old netbook and I use more as a PDA than I do my phone any more.
When 1st got it I think I was like most other people and thought of it as a toy but now because of some of the grate productivity apps and the size of the screen I do use it for more than just games. I keep wondering what apple will introduce that will make me want to upgrade. What new feature hardware wise of software wise will they release next year that will make me upgrade? 1. Front facing camera? 2. Rear facing camera? 3. Better battery life? 4. Thinner and lighter? 5. NFC support? 6....

I just got an iPad. I want to know if anyone knows how I can hook it up wirelessly to my HP printer which is attached to my router.
I run a Windows shop at home and so far this seems to be an issue. I can't seem to find any apps that make this possible.
Hi. I own an iPad, and I watch lots of Netflix. I have a Wii that could be used for Netflix but isn't set up.
I like to play music over 7 year old HP computer speakers that are hooked up to and iPod universal dock. I have a 19" HDTV. I have an $100 Apple Gift Card, is an Apple TV worth it for me?

Having trouble with iPad camera connection kit on iOS 4.2?
Looks like 4.2 mucked things up with how the dock connector distributes power to attached devices. I haven't had a chance to try it yet (usually keep the SD card reader in my bag and the USB reader at home). Anyone experienced this yet? Via: http://www.engadget.com/2010/12/06/ios-4-2-said-to...
Will the Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit ( ) work with iPhone 4 or iPod Touch 4 running iOS 4.2?
Will the Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit ( http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC531ZM/A ) work with iPhone 4 or iPod Touch 4 running iOS 4.2? I realize that it wouldn't work with iPod touch 3G or the iPhone 3Gs running iOS 3.2, but since that point a lot has changed with both the hardware and the software. The reason I ask is because I'm looking for a way to easily get pictures from my camera while on vacation, and all I'll have is my iPod touch 4G running iOS 4.2 (or maybe by...

Must have iPad apps for someone new?
A friend of mine just received an iPad as a gift. What are your favorite must have apps for someone new to the Apple platform? He doesn't have an iPod or iPhone, so this experience is completely new for him. Some good apps I feel that I can't live without: - Simplenote - GoodReader (awesome file manager) - IM+ - Twitter (though I don't think he tweets, but I probably use this app more than any other, sadly).

If the iPad 2nd-gen gets a Retina display, what will the resolution be?
I've been thinking about the idea of the iPad 2nd-gen getting a Retina display for a while now, specifically because it presents some distinct technological challenges for Apple to overcome. Doubling the dimensions (and quadrupling the number of pixels) of the iPhone was a huge step forward, but was well within the range of technological feasibility: Original iPhone: 480 x 320 = 153,600 pixels at 165 PPI iPhone 4: 960 x 640 = 614,400 pixels at 330 PPI With a 3.5-inch display, this makes an...

Any issues when upgrading iOS from beta to release?
Both my iPhone and iPad, which were/are running the 4.2 beta, have been running into the same problem since the 4.2 public release came out this week. Basically, iTunes seems to think the iOS version hasn't actually changed (only the build has, technically the version number is the same: "4.2"), and it refuses to re-acquire the restore dmg from Apple. With the iPad plugged in: Hit the update button: "This version of the iPad software [version number] is the current...

For Find My iPhone in iOS 4.2, is there a way to create a new MobileMe using an existing Apple ID?
It seems like in order to get Find My iPhone you need to set up a completely new MobileMe account with a completely new Apple ID. Seems kind of ridiculous (and very un-Apple-like) that you'd have to create an entirely new ID and switch off your current one instead of just binding MobileMe to your existing Apple ID. Any luck?
Does OnLive's gamepads use Bluetooth?
If they can, would they be able to connect to Ipod Touches, IPhones, IPads, or other cell phones, using Bluetooth, and play games via an OnLive app if/when its developed and released?

I have a question about where I might keep my iPad. My understanding is allowing the battery to get too cold or too hot is not good for its life.
One scenario I wonder about, on the too cold side of the equation, is the car. How cold is too cold for that? My main notion is stopping at the gym on the way to work in colder weather. The temperature may get down to the teens when I go as we head deeper into winter. How cold outside would an hour in a car have to be before I should worry (allowing for the car to have run for at least 5-10 minutes)? For me it's a risk/reward question: is there more risk leaving it cold in the car, or...
Do you need to switch between "TV" or "Video 2" when using Airplay among other things.
I know that our DVD automatically switches when a disc is put in, is that the case with Airplay?

iOS 4.2 GM on iPad: Notes app keeps crashing.
I can't get the default Notes app on the iPad to work properly. Every time I click on an existing note, the application crashes. I've tried syncing it, un-syncing it, wiping notes and re-syncing it, all to no avail. Is anyone else seeing this or have ideas on how to fix it?

Which is the best Mi-fi with a pre-paid data plan for use in the NYC area?
It should ideally be compatible with at least one of the following: iPhone 4, Nexus One and/or iPad.

I recently was lucky enough to be given an iPad 32GB Wifi+3G for free. I was pretty happy, but I knew that I didn't need that model.
So I figured I could sell it only eBay, get some extra cash, and use some of that money to buy a 16GB Wifi model. If I ever needed 3G access I could always tether my iPhone to the iPad. Anyways, I've been considering waiting for the next generation iPad to come out. I've read that it could be released as early as the 2010 holiday season or (more likely) spring of 2011. However I don't want to wait until spring of 2011. That seems too far away. So I'm considering just buying...

I've heard a few people recently mention this device is 'too heavy.
' When I initially got my iPad, it seemed hefty (but in a solidly built sort of way). But now, I don't think I necessarily consider the device to be heavy! Hardly notice it, actually. It was the only thing I brought with me our Boston event (left the MBP at home), and it was fantastic to travel with a lighter load. Anyway, what do you think about the weight of this device?
