I'm gathering a short list of PCs appropriate for small children. I know a few PC makers have a few models specific to children with durable designs and materials, spillproof keyboards, smudgeproof displays, etc. Looking for your suggestions across a range of price points, form factor designs and sizes. Doesn't have to target kids directly, but still appropriate for kid use. Can be desktop/AIO, laptop and/or slates. Thanks for your help!
Is anyone else having issues with mail crashing on iOS 5? We have an iPad and iPhone 4 that are both having issues. Sometimes it crashes when it's processing the dynamic links for dates and times. Other times it totally random but typically more in sending than reading. The iPad has just a pop3 account. The iPhone has 5 accounts that are Gmail, iCloud and a few pop3. Both devices have had the app fully closed and items reset. I've been holding off on a hard reset. (No time to set back up fully.)...

Over the last few months, I've imported a number a photos directly to my iPad, using the Apple Camera Connection Kit. Now that everything had finally been brought over to my computer, I want to get rid of them. Unfortunately, I'm not sure there's an easy solution. I've turned OFF Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Notes, Photo Stream, AND Documents & Data, but am still told there isn't enough storage space in my iCloud to backup my iPad. What give?
I have a jailbroken iPad and I have a few apps that I would lose if I upgraded to iOS 5, primarily VLC (I really hate having to convert video files).
Does iOS 5 bring a lot of new features to the iPad that would make it worth upgrading to? It seems like the upgrade is a no brainer for iPhone users, but I'm not sure what I'd be missing out with the iPad.
Based on Apple's update cycle (3 OSes for a device) will it mean that iOS 5 will be the last major update Apple will push out to the 1st gen iPad owners? (since it went through iOS 3.2, 4 and now, 5)
I'm sick of having to show my Mum things like how to view attachments, how to print, how to use word, sync her iPod Touch, rip music in iTunes. So I'm thinking of moving my Mum to an iPad with the launch of iCloud. Before I loan her my iPad to try it, what should I really expect, I mean, for me an iPad is simple, will a basic user like her actually find it simple?
I've got Garage Band on an iPad 2 but I'm wondering if there's any way to tell how big each individual song is. There's no file system on the iPad so it's hard to tell - is there a way to tell?
OK, apple has confirmed this, the Siri features will only be available on the iPhone 4S!
Now, I don't understand the reason behind this!
We understand this is a technology that uses a lot of processing power to be able to recognize voice and translating it into actions, but first, I don't mind to wait a few secs to get results from Siri, and second, it could be easier to recognize text input and it could be made in every iOS 5 out there to get things done.
I have a kindle 3 and an iPad. I use Calibre to upload some books that i haven't bought on Amazon to my Kindle. That's nice, but sadly the Kindle app only syncs with books purchased directly on the Amazon store. Is theree a way to make my kindle app and my kindle 3 sync automatically? Thanks!
I'm curious to know what the 30 pin Apple iPod/iPhone/iPad connector (or any other proprietary connector for that matter) has over a traditional USB or other standard adapter.
If I want to watch something on Apple Trailers for example and I load quick time on my macbook the whole movie loads and I can watch it. On my ipad, it loads a little, then stops and when I try to play it it has to stop, more of the movie loads and then I'll watch a little more. This happens sometimes with youtube and other videos too, and it's really annoying. Is this normal? My wifi is solid too, like I said on the macbook they load fine.
I love how the Twitter app for iPad provides a glimpse of the content being linked to in a tweet, without removing the stream of tweets from your sight. The way it presents the different levels of information without removing any of them. Is there an app for Mac that provides this?
It seems like one lesson to be learned from the HP Touchpad debacle is that making a tablet that looks like the iPad and does many of the same functions for roughly the same price isn't a good strategy. Tablet makers need to define their products differently than Apple. So far the major differences being tackled are memory expansion (SD card slots), extra ports, and differing screen sizes/resolutions. I'm not impressed. So, it's a well known fact that Apple holds an annual event roughly every September, usually to unveil the new line of iPods. This year, however, there is also speculation that since Apple skipped it's usual summer window of announcing a new iPhone that they will instead do it at this fall event as well. What do you think? One thing that's bugged me about emulating iPhone apps on the iPad is that everything, from the keyboard to the apps themselves, is in the 'old' 320 x 480px resolution despite the retina display bringing the iPhone nearer to the iPad's native res. Given that they're both basically the same platform I can't imagine why Apple hasn't allowed iPhone apps and the emulator package to run at 640 x 960px...would it really demand more horsepower than the iPad can supply to do so?
