I have used an iPad since the original and never used an external keyboard. Now that I have a use to type more on it, what keyboard would you recommend?

Any way to enable iPad shortcuts using Apple Bluetooth Keyboard?
So I just picked up an Apple Bluetooth keyboard for my iPad 2. I had a keyboard dock for my iPad 1 laying around, but because it's not specifically designed for the second generation tablet (I've read that it damages the 30-pin connector) and the fact I just backed an awesome Kickstarter project (WINGStand), I opted for the BT accessory. Anyone else disappointed with this accessory?
I have one, but found it too cumbersome to keep with me on the go (the shape is very awkward) and a number of keys have fallen off!
