How to jailbreak iPad with Spirit on Mac
details
iPad "jailbreaking" has been a hot topic since Apple released its tablet this 2010. While the amazing device does indeed have applications for "just about everything," Apple's sometimes arbitrary or self-serving rejections of apps such as Google Voice has turned more people on to the idea of freeing themselves from dependence on Apple for these resources. Now DevTeam have again lived up to their reputation with the release of Spirit jailbreak for iPad. Here is a step by...

I've had my 32GB for about a month and I am still loving it..

For those who are thinking about getting the iPad Dock (The one without the keyboard), I would highly recommend you saving your money. Its too small to hold the iPad good enough for it to not wobble whenever you touch the screen. As an alternative, just buy a photo stand from wal-mart for $3. Here is a link to my iPad setup. http://twitpic.com/1k3z4x

S10 Blade first impressions.
details
Well my S10 arrived yesterday and I love it. Browsing in tablet mode is awesome and the thing is completely silent. A part of me still wants more RAM but this has not turned out to be an issue. The windows touch pack games are fun. Surface apps are heavy to the point of unusability. As far as the I pad comparisons, well the iPad is lighter has a better screen has more points of multitouch and is slicker. The S10 is so much more powerful with its multitasking and torrent apps and everything else... Read more →

Can I just please say how pleased I am that the ipad (when it finally is released around the rest of the world) will be 3g unlocked!
details
I live between 3 countries, and only one allowed my to buy outright a iphone that I could swap sims on without hacking. Now all that is needed is for countries like the US to get mobile internet coverage like here in Sweden (with full tethering etc in almost all locations) and we can all enjoy connected devices! And I'm not even sure I want the 3g iPad! There are so many other great devices out there and coming out. Really wanted to say I enjoy the freedom of not being tied to archaic...

I'm glad I waited for the 3G model. I got the 64 GB 3G and it is a terrific media consumption device.
details
I read all my news on it now and having the "anywhere" connection is great. The ABC viewer app is terrific. The video quality is great and works well over 3G. I can't wait for hulu to get their iPad app done. I'm an iPhone 3Gs owner and I'm surprised and pleased by how much faster the iPad is. I find myself leaving my MBP at home a lot more.

The ipad seems like a great multimedia device but like all other apple products it seems overpriced and somewhat gimped.
details
The good thing about this is that it will make every other company try and (hopefully) undercut there price with more features. As much as I would like a win7 tablet a smartphone OS seems to work well for the most part. Android and WP7 tablets are going to be amazing. But what Im hoping for most is a WP7 tablet because with zune and xbox it would be killer.

April 3 - 300k
details
April 4 - April 8 - 30k April 8 total - ~450k April 9 - April 29 - 21k April 20 total - ~900k iPad 3G launch April 30 - ~100k May 3 Total - ~1,000k Expected sales for next month - ~650k (not including international sales) International sales will drive it further though. All values were just straightlined given the available information assuming at least 100k for the 3G launch seems reasonable... Sales rate has definitely been decreasing, but I'm not sure how much of that is saturation and... Read more →

iPad 3G + Netflix streaming = awesome! I've been using my 64GB iPad 3G non-stop since about 8:30 this morning (about 8 hours so far).
details
The 3G has remained on the entire time and the WiFi is turned off. I have streamed two movies over the AT&T network and it never skipped a beat. I live on the outskirts of my town and have never gotten a good enough broadband connection to stream Netflix, so I'm stoked right now! I've also streamed YouTube, Vimeo video, played games, and surfed the web. As for battery life? I'm at 38% right now! That means I've probably got at least a couple more hours before I have to worry...

The iPad could be the killer device with a few minor additions.
details
- a file system: we need to be able to save files without syncing. - wireless sync: this seems logical but still hasn't come to any apple devices. - native PDF viewer: swiping through PDFs should work just as iBooks does. - flash support: it be a nice addition but so far hasn't been a deal breaker for me. - better notification support: in my opinion android is the best at this. Simple notifications that aren't obtrusive. The popups are so 1998. - multitasking: I know this is... Read more →

Just installed the new Rhapsody app on my iPad, figured I'd test its new offline streaming capabilities, and hit a snag (well, really more of an…
details
annoyance): I have to deauthorize Rhapsody on my Nexus One first. Not a big deal, deauthorizing isn't hard, but it is frustrating that they limit you to one mobile device at a time. I believe they limit you to up to 5 PCs at a time, which is more reasonable, imagine what'd it would be like if you had to deauthorize your Sonos every time you wanted to use Rhapsody on your PC. I get why they do this -- they don't want people sharing accounts -- but I use my phone and my iPad in very... Read more →

device is capable of for the mobile user. I'm a CIO and I travel between Chicago and LA a lot, and for two/three day trips the iPad has easily replaced my laptop and netbook. It's light, the battery lasts FOREVER (very important on 4 hour flights and endless wait times in airport terminals) and it meets all my entertainment needs (music, movies, books, games). Answering emails and taking notes are my primary "work" uses for my traveling computing device, and for heavy email... Read more →
