- Features Out of the box, it pretty much has everything you need to get started and if it doesn't, I'm sure there's an app for it. Wish there was wireless sync though.
- Display Display is great. Awesome viewing angles, can get really bright, colors look fine. Only issues is the slight backlight bleeding.
- Battery life I use my iPad on and off during the day and it lasts me at least 2-3 days without need to recharge. So good...
- Ease of use Probably the simplest tablet interface you'll come across.
- Storage capacity Enough storage for my needs. I have the 32 GB version and I have plenty of room for videos, apps, and some music.
- Design and form factor I think Apple has set the standard for how tablet should look. I don't think there's any other way you can make a good tablet.
- Portability (size / weight) Size is fine. Very thin, but it is a bit heavy. It's still more portable than any other computer I have, aside from my smartphone.
- Durability Feels really sturdy, my only concern is the durability of the back. I can see this getting scratched easily if you're not careful.
Detailed review
This is my first tablet and I have to say that it's a good way to start off in this category. I have to admit, it's still a luxury device. I don't feel as dependent on it as I do with my smartphone, but it's definitely a cooler experience apart from your desktop computer and your phone.
Most of my issues with the iPad are related to the software. Coming from an Android smartphone, there's a lot of things that I miss when using the iPad: Un- intrusive notifications, widgets, not needing to use iTunes, and other minor things. Hopefully with upcoming updates, some of these things can be addressed, but for right now I think I have a good balance with my Android phone and the iPad; I get the best of both worlds.
If you're looking for a tablet, you can't go wrong with the iPad.
